@CapreDiem42
@CapreDiem42 Жыл бұрын
When does the itch start from the 1st few days n throughout or as the braids get stale? Cos if it’s from the onset maybe find hair that has been pre washed or pre wash it yourself to get the chemicals out it before getting them braided in
@serenag6901
@serenag6901 Жыл бұрын
Try washing your braid hair before doing your protective style. Use ACV (apple cider vinegar). You will find the itching will virtually be nonexisting, After that process, see youtube for steps how to wash your braid hair before attaching to your hair. Bless 🇬🇧

I once commented on a video about how it is possible to wash braids and got piled on lmaoo. So many “you’re not black. You don’t have 4c hair blah blah.” I was just so confused? Like when did this start? Ive gotten braids since the 90s (long before any of this “protective style” lingo came into play) and I’ve always washed them. They were also totally convinced that their hair didy smell after going 2-3 months without washing. Even if someone doesn’t sweat or get oily easily, their hair is still picking up dirt, dust, debris and odors from the environment. Sorry for the long rant 😅 lol. I’m happy there are creators out there debunking this myth

Love to see someone else who washes their hair while wearing braids! People look at me crazy when I tell them I wash mine. I’m not sure who started the lie that we can’t/shouldn’t wash our hair while in protective styles. I don’t think people realize hair picks up odors from the environments. Even if you don’t sweat or have an oily scalp, windy days or a smelly room will leave your head funky!!! In my opinion, it also helps with the takedown process not to have braids full of oil and product.

How do you keep your parts so neat?
@cupcake1065
@cupcake1065 Жыл бұрын
Her hair texture helps, the finer or "easier" to manage your texture is, in my opinion, the less work it takes to keep the hair inside the braid/twist etc. But also, taking care to wrap it up, not disturbing the parts by scratching too much etc. People with 4c hair tend to have to blowdry and straighten their hair for knotless braids and after that gel wears off, the base of the braid gets textured again. I have 4c and thick hair, so there's already a lot of hair to pack away and the texture is coily, my hair looks "old" relatively quickly given my hair frizzes easily. But this is why I like kinkier textured hairstyles like locs, kinky/spring twists as the older they get the better they tend to look.

Yes! 👍🏽 Get some Dollar Tree wipes to keep in your purse or car and clean your scalp AFTER you cool down from exercise, mid-day or toward the end of the day if you've been sweating. Sweat or not, the natural oil that comes out of the human scalp STINKS worse and worse each day. So yes, wipe atleast a few times a week, get some rinseless shampoo for the days you sweat and rinse your scalp, dry it to prevent mold & re-moisturize with a light oil mist. Braids or not, the scalp needs to be cleaned or atleast wiped. These braids are gorgeous!!!😍
