A clear hair "dye" (toner or gloss) will not color or lighten your hair. The developer you mix it with, however, will lighten your hair. She probably used too high of a strength developer and that combined with the heat from the scalp lightened her roots. Easy fix at least!

Yes, because you aren’t supposed to use clear dye on its own! Did you not read the box? Seriously, what did you think clear dye was for? It’s used to dilute preexisting dyes 🤦‍♀️

Rule #1 Never cut your own bangs if you don't know what you're doing you're more likely will cut them too short and mess them up.

Ive cut my hair for years. It’s true you need to do your research and really understand how the hair lays. When in doubt, cut it long so if you mess up a hairstylist can finish it how you want and you can watch what they do. I do think it’s great to practice cutting your own hair. Helps save money in the long run if you can cut it reliably. But it takes time and patience to get there.

I nearly always cut my bangs all by myself and I do not know how to do it but I only failed it once but my dream job is hairstylist so I think it’s a good sign that I only failed once

Just do it but you have to get a feel of what thing results in what so just start with cutting short pieces off

And the botched salon ones are why I don't trust anyone but myself to do exactly what I want. It's been like 2 years since anyone else cut my hair and I love the way I look much more then when others did it. You can do it correctly, just do your research and learn how to section. I usually use regular scissors. I like more "alternative" styles though so if you want a super clean style use the correct ones.

Why do people bleach their roots before the colour? Virgin root hair will bleach so much quicker than the colour you have, do it the opposite way so the colour on your ends has longer time to process than on your roots, no wonder their colour doesn't lift

I think it's because the folks behind the compilation being American or African American. They don't like seeing white folks and Asian folks getting boxbraids as it is seen as 'appropriation'.

PITT: not knowing what a fcking wig is If you’re one to seriously cry over a messed up haircut and believe it’s what gives you your confidence (as opposed to realizing confidence comes from within), then get a damn wig and don’t fool with your natural hair. For real. Save yourself and everyone else the dramatics and experiment with a wig. For everyone else who can take it lightly, they know it’s not a forever cut. It will grow back while they’re able to grow it back. It will not be the end of the world nor will it last forever. Props to the people who acknowledge their fck ups, laugh at it, and rock it until the next time.

Gen Z. They all just decide to cut their hair and color their hair on TikTok and post it. Just go to the hair salon and get a trim or a cut. Super cuts whatever. Just don’t use sewing scissors which I saw craft scissors, anything sharp, Oh, Lord.

There is no way she slept through that, for a start she's had to caption she was "asleep" and secondly the reaction was one of the most insincere I've ever seen. You feel if your hair is out of place as drastic as that. Very annoying and not funny. I'm sorry but I just had to say this.
