My hairstylist used to call DIY Ombré her “paycheck in a box” because it was always a fail and people ended up spending more money for her to fix it.

My husband was dying my hair for me last night." Okay." He said in this ACCENT. "I am starting at the back of the head. I am taking fine sections and doing the lengths first and then to the roots. I have started the first timer....." I started to laugh and the he suddenly said" This is special!" And I stopped laughing and began to worry.....😬😂 He did a really good job! I lost 70% to 80% of my hair all over 2 years ago due to Covid and then Long Covid. I have always had long fine hair but I had a lot of it. It was devastating as I felt so ugly (my hubby was amazing), it has taken me all that time for it to run it's course. It's still very fine and fragile but I got my first hair cut last week after 2 plus years and even managed to get a fringe back. The freedom of not having to wear scarfs to hide it has lifted my spirits. I can't dye it as it is still so fragile so have to embrace the grey or as I like to call it tinsel. I will never take my hair for granted again, I would rather have grey hair than no hair. I do miss my prettier hair.

Even I'm not daft enough to do my hair 3 hours before work. My granddaughter dyed my hair purple a week ago, she used fine sections and a dye brush. Budding hairdresser at age 9. And she loves Hair Buddha videos too.

It is so refreshing that Hair Buddha is just saying his professional view about things so directly without apologizing for it. I feel like we live in an era where even if i am right about something, for examble at work, I need to say it in an apologetical way as to not upset the people. It is so tiring and takes so much extra time. I am refreshed by Hair Buddha.

I recently applied Arctic Fox Sunset Orange without gloves, thinking my hands would be stained for a day or two, like when I used blue and green. My hands looked like they were covered with Cheeto dust for a couple days. Took a week before it stopped looking like I was bleeding around my nails. Crazy. My hair looks great, though.

Since I've been on my long hair journey I can't believe how poorly I used to treat my hair. I used to bleach highlights in my hair like 3 times a year and use heat on my hair everyday. That may not sound too crazy but it was so damaging and I will never do that again. It blows my mind that some of these ladies on KZfaq are dying their hair multiple times A MONTH. Having long healthy hair is so much more important to me now than having blonde in my hair. My hair is so healthy now and down to my lower back and I am embracing my ginger color and feel so happy with my hair now😊

@Hair Buddha I have scalp psoriasis on the back of my scalp plus sensitive skin. I have no intentions of dying my hair. Mother Nature and my kids are doing that for me. But if someone with a scalp condition like psoriasis were to ask you about dying their hair, what would you say? What are your thoughts about it? I tell people that with my condition, I couldn't dye my hair. Could you make a video about hair dying and scalp problems? Thank you. ❤️❤️❤️

Back in the 80’s we played it safe. The trend was to bleach out just a small portion of our hair, in the area just behind our ears. Then we would dye just that strip any color we wanted.

It can be done but you gotta go to a good professional. Grey hair has no pigment so it absorbs color differently and the color doesn’t last as long. If you want it to be healthy and shiny go to a pro who specializes in color and does grey hair specifically. Good luck

Okay, I’m older but I look at these lovely young ladies and their beautiful hair and want to say DON’T do it! Go to a salon and put your precious hair in the hands of a professional! Edited to add: My college grad photo nightmare… I had waist-long hair and wanted a spiral perm. My sis was doing it and she looked so pretty. So I went to MY salon and the guy used regular perm rollers and said it gives the same effect. My light brown hair wound up completely frizzed and was orange. He didn’t charge me. I went back and he dyed it back brown, chopped it off and gave me a nice layered look. But what a DISASTER!

My husband's ex-wife asked me to put "pink pop" colour refresh in her hair as an ombre. That woman is fearless 😂 Anyway, I told her it would take months to wash out, that it would turn more copper than pink with time, that I'm not a professional and she still insinted... But overall it turned out pretty good, I used a comb, backcombed, did streaks, did thin sections.... But again, that woman has balls😅

This gave the time for the ends and first ones to be much ligther with a nice shading 😁 Thanks Hair Buddha! 🤗

I have used only Directions for the past 10 years for my pink and blue and they've always been great! They're very pigmented, last as long as you'd expct semi permanent to last(fairly long tbh!) I use it on bleached hair and my niece has just started using the darker colours on her unbleached hair (she is 11) and they often come ot lovely too! Obviously not as vibrant and it fades very quick but it was never going to be a fair comparison with my pourus bleached hair lol. it's also about a 5th of the price of manic panic and has roughly the same amount of ml in a botle, we don't get arctic fox so easily here in the UK

Directions is really decent stuff. Made in UK I think. Got some lovely colours.

😂😂😂she keeps going over the same spot!!! I don’t understand why anyone tries to mess up their hair at home??? I mean it’s amusing to watch but if you actually care for your hair then leave it to the professionals

Can you do some 101 videos showing how to do a full head? Like for this video, you talk about back combing for an ombre?

It’s funny how inexperienced consumers think that they can do what professionals that are licensed and experienced can do with a box. Just saying, expect what your experience gives you equal result. Always expect you might have to cut shorter hair
