💈 Relaxing 1-hour Haircut Finished with a Citrus-Scented Hot Towel | Sweeney Ted Barbershop Malaysia

Last year while we were in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, I got a haircut and hair styling finished with a relaxing citrus-scented hot towel at Sweeney Ted. Ted Lee made a career switch in his thirties to open his barbershop almost 3 years ago.
After working for years in the corporate world, Ted found himself at a crossroads in his career. He had to make a decision to either continue working in the corporate field where he was unhappy or pursue something he was truly passionate about.
In his spare time, Ted had been cutting hair as a hobby. He found himself happiest when he made people look and feel good. Ted says he loves the process, finds it therapeutic, and loves the interaction with customers from all walks of life. He also really enjoys working with his hands which is something he didn’t realize until later on in life.
Ted spends an hour with his customers for a haircut. After the consultation, he provides a detailed haircut finished with a hot towel, and then gives tips on styling your hair.
Ted's barbershop has a clean minimalist look. Since there is so much going on in the world, Ted says he wants a space that feels calm, quiet, and clutter free. Ted wants his customers to come in for a haircut or hot towel shave and relax their worries away!

@Bruteme This barbershop is in a mall. However you are somewhat correct in that many mall spaces are not designed to be for one type of shop in particular. It's uncommon (to my knowledge) for a traditional barber to work out of a mall, but I think this guy is solo and he seems to make the space work.

I will be damned if this is not the best haircut I have watched you get, Harry. I have never seen a barber with more focus and confidence. You have to appreciate when barbers go the extra mile to spend a little more time paying attention to detail. The end product highlights the difference between a great haircut and the best haircut. Hey Aret! Some haircuts take longer than others. I usually tread more carefully when cutting someone's hair for the first time. Harry's head is a little bumpy on the sides of the occipital bone so fading that area was a little tricky. This is also the reason I decided on giving Harry a taper fade. ☺

Sweeny Ted is one of the few that took Harry's permission to "Do whatever.", and ran with it. He followed Harry's natural hair line, but still did something creative and unique.

Hey Cavscout! Yes! My preference is to usually go with the natural growth of the hair. Harry has a cowlick of sorts at the front so I just went with that so that even when his hair is not styled it'll fall nicely. ☺

Here it is, a miracle has happened, one of the few competent masters of his craft. And I started the haircut with the right zone, and distributed the hair into zones. Well, thank God there are normal masters, you can't look at the rest without tears.

I've watched this k e a few times now. And it's dawned on me that the barber actually understands what AMSR is. He must do, for a hair cut to last over a hour. And the precision and sheer perfection in his work is actually a understatement. I would love a haircut from this chap he is absolutely in the top five of Harry's.. Even maybe Top 3. Viewing various barbers around the world on your channel is anything from fascinating to, of course, relaxing. My personal Top 5 are: Seoul; Las Vegas; Czech Republic; Kyoto; Phoenix. Well, my Favorite of All: Sweeney Ted in K.L., Malaysia. His precision, attention to detail, the clean and minimalist decor, and the low background hum ( white noise ) make it my top pick when I want to come to a place of calm and reflection. My father was a barber back in 1920's so cutting hair was incorporated into my DNA. After watching some of the shaves and cuts from barbers I can say that we can learn a lot from different cultures and how they take their job to the next level.
