I actually just went through this in “real life”. I told the hairdresser that I just grew out my layers, I did NOT want layers and wanted to keep the length for the most part. I wanted a trim to even it out. SHE CUT OFF ABOUT 4 inches and LAYERED IT. I’m still in shock and can’t do anything with it. I HATE it. 😞

I am a stylists. I did have this happen to me in eight grade. Just a trim went from clear down my back to above my shoulders. I absolutely hated it. She didn't care what I wanted. It did make me a better stylist.

Although this must be satire, many haircutters have done this to me, so I've been cutting my own hair for decades.

Yeah it’s a joke but it’s never funny when this actually happens. And it happens quite a lot. We all entered a saloon with long hair for just a trim and exited with a bob. For me it’s like Nam flashbacks.

I'm a hairdresser of 40 yearsI knew a woman that this happened to. She said 2 inches I guess he misunderstood. He cut off 12. I told her to take him to court. She did. She walked away with a lot of money so do something about it. Don't just do nothing ! That is not right whatsoever. It's like going to a dentist and wanting your teeth cleaned and he decides to pull them all. Is that fair? Would you leave it alone? Take them to court plain and simple

I haven’t had a haircut since 2016 for this reason. I had already been scared of change and was trying to get out of that mindset so my hair was really long, I asked for a trim and the lady had messed up and I had to get a bob

I had hair to the middle of my back in 2021 and now l am growing it out again because the last person l went to decided a trim meant cutting it completely off. Every time l have gotten it long and decided to treat myself to nice decent trim they end up cutting my hair off instead. I have decided l will no longer enter a salon and go to a barber instead at least they listen.

This is my entire life when I go to hairdressers so that’s why I’m scared to go…

This is exactly what happened to me irl lol and I didn’t even mention all of what she’s saying in this joke because I was only 18 years old lol so I wouldn’t know to talk the way she’s talking. All I asked for was layers lol and they gave me a fucking Bob. My hair was reaching my tailbone when I walked in. I mentioned multiple times that I didn’t like short hair and I didn’t want it short. That’s all I knew to say. . I was shy. That was before they started cutting and they reassured me It wasn’t going to be short. Again, I was a kid, so I believe them. so yeah, I’ve been trimming my hair since & I will never go back to a salon. 😂 oh, and for context, no it wasn’t damaged. It was plain virgin brunette hair aka a big playground for that mf. 😅. Fast forward my hair is again passed my tailbone LMAO that is my preference.😂 no layers, but the longest length kind of makes it look like a V-shaped so it’s fine.

I know it's a joke, but it's the reason I started cutting my own hair!😂 When you have REALLY long hair, the first thing most hairdressers want to do is cut it all off!! Why do they hate to deal with long hair!? I have a fantastic lady that's done my hair for the last 20 years, Nina- she never tries to hack off half my hair, lol, she knows a half an inch means exactly that!😂 And my hair is almost waist length, so it's hard for me to get the back even when I trim it, so she evens it up😊 I'm also a dog groomer, so I have an edge over the average person to cut my own hair, lol, but it's still a challenge, when you're working on your own hair, in a mirror😂❤

Went to a salon asked for a light trim for my daughter she was in 9th grade and that was a lot for her. She has fine thin straight hair. Well before I knew it this man just looked at me took 4 inches off in the back and it was too late what could I do. I paid but will never return. 😡

Bad news. She looked a lot sexier with longer hair. It's not true for every woman, but it is true for her face. I would fire this hairdresser.

Omg my dad’s girlfriend was a hairdresser. I was in high school and she wanted to use me as her model. I had very long thick hair. I told I wanted long layers and she cut it like the Baycity rollers or an old English rocker! So short with long stringy pieces of hair. I had to go to the hair dresser the next day and cut it super short. The hairdresser was laughing cause I was so upset. It all in all was a bad experience. I keep my hair long as I don’t like going to the hairdresser. My sister is a hairdresser and I get a good cut from her but she moved away.

They may be playing that this was satire, but sadly I have had similar experiences where the stylists would just do what they wanted. I had one flamer screech at me, I had told him not to use a razor on my hair, and when I told to stop, he screeched that I don’t tell him how to cut hair. Needless to say he didn’t get any repeat business from me and I told friends and family members about him.
