I don't know understand how someone manages to close the bolt on their thumb. It's not like the bolt automatically closes upon loading the rounds. You'd have to have your thumb in the chambre WHILST releasing the bolt lmao

the m1 garand has an automatic closing system, the second he clip enters the gun it slams the bolt closed....

@@DuKbuK2 not at all, it only closes if you release the clip. Even a small amount of pressure pushing down the clip will keep the bolt from closing

@acksOnly depends on the wear and timing of that particular garand. Actually a well timed garand should release the op rod as soon as the clip is pushed all the way down. they have garand timing blocks to check this function

You could also make the point that Garand thumb is a myth because you have to be doing something wrong to get it. Your experience with the rifle does not reflect all of the Swedish soldiers that evidently weren't paying attention at all and turned their thumbnails blue. Also consider that an open-top action like this is far more easy to pinch your fingers with than something like an AR. If people can see it, they'll want to touch it. Personally I follow the mentioned rule, although once an Auto-5 almost bit me. That was my bad.

I said in this video 2 months before "garand thumb came out with this video that its very "overhyped" fudd lore. In the case of negligent discharge do you blame the gun or the person? Of course if you get m1 thumb or hakim thumb or ag42 thumb it's the operators fault. The only way I can see you getting it without screwing around with it without a magazine in it is if you were trying to top it off like they do in video games. Unless you have any manual hold open like on a fn49 you would be stupid to try to attempt this. If you use a stripper clip and run the gun till it empty there is no way you can. I don't mean to sound like I'm attacking you or anything but with both of my videos I have been shit on playing the "what if?" Game and I'm willing to bet 90% of these losers haven't even seen one in real life. They just take what they hear on the history Channel or from their know nothing friends and roll with it.
