Dear Rion, you are such a positive personality, pure role model. The Hakone birthday adventure was really shocking from the late night changing the room, less sleep in the very first hours of your Birthday, then for you challinging ropeway rides, smelly volcanic inferno with experiencing a specially boiled only outside "black" egg up to the unfortunatelly cancelled special rapid train to Shunjuku. The fancy breakfast at the hotel in spite of yours cute sleepyness and the special birthday lunch with beer at the Gotenba Outlet overlooking the Mt. Fuji were highlights of your special day and you will for sure remember it forever. The Outlet itself is a nice place to visit even if you are not a brand addicted person. After a cloudy or even misty morning the sunshine during the rest of the day improved the atmosphere. In the end everything is fine that ends well, for you have safelly reached crowded Shinjuku Station. Thanks so much for enabling us to joyn your Birthday Trip. It was quite an experience. Let's keep on walking! GAOOOO...

Thanks for the 2-episodes videos Rion! I think it wasn't that bad the train had cancelled, as long as you still able to get back to Shinjuku via another train / other options. After all you got to enjoy different views and spent longer time with the beautiful sceneries too. All good! Looking forward to your Fantasy Springs visit videos !

What a day-from kanpai with the majestic Mount Fuji 🍻 (I’ll never get tired of this view 🤩) to a sudden stressful situation back to Shinjuku (as one who is less familiar with the transportation system and much less competent with the language, I’d totally panic 😖). This reminds me of one of your favorite quotes-I smile not because I’m happy; I’m happy because I smile 😊 No matter what high highs or low lows are coming up in this next year, let’s keep walking… and smiling!

Gotemba, been there twice, back in 2016, our first time in Japan and then on 2018. Miss that place, a good spot for big discounts on a lot of items. Good spot also for a Mt Fuji backdrop.

You should have taken the bus from Gotemba going straight to Shinjuku. That's the route we took going back to Tokyo. Although I don't know which one is cheaper. Looks like what you took was a very cheap ride. Might do it the next time we visit Gotemba.

箱根旅行後編ありがとうございました！なんか、ラストに衝撃の惨事で驚きました。誕生日だったのに😭でもそんな日もあるでしょう、ドンマイです👍ロープウェイ🚡からの景色が絶景でした、ちなみに秋の紅葉🍁の時期もめっちゃキレイです、もう一回乗らないとね😂！黒卵一個で7年寿命が延びるそうです🥚電車キャンセルだったけど在来線で大自然の景色に癒された事と思います🌳✨無事新宿に到着出来て良かったです🚈👍ありがとうございました！

Rion, never use a hotel/public usb wall port. They can be easily tampered with by hackers, then you are plugging your device directly into it; giving direct access to the device. Always use a wall plug adapter.

First of all, Happy Birthday Rion! Last year me and my GF took almost the same trip as you, just reverse. 😃 Hakone-Yumoto, Gora, Owakudani then the pirate ship was our tour. It was very nice and nostalgic to see it again in your videos. Thank you. Besides your hotel and train cancellation I think you had a great and beautiful tour. 😉 Keep walking Rion!

So glad you had a great birthday trip to Hakone (after the bad start and bad end). Your visit was very quiet. I visited Hakone on my birthday last November and it was very busy. One hour wait for the ropeway! It was great to re-live my adventure again with your video. It is amazing to see and hear all the sounds of Japan again. It is such a long way from the UK, but i will return again one day soon. Thank you Rion.

On my first trip to Japan in 2012 my friend took me out to Hakone and it was awesome. SO last year I decided to make the trip by myself from Tokyo, alone. It was a long day but it was really cool to navigate all that way by myself and just enjoy the trip. Also, Happy birthday!

Rion, happy birthday! My wife and I have been watching your videos. However, this video is the most intriguing because we did the same last year where our train was cancelled from gotamba to shinjuku. We ended up at matsuda, transferred to odakyu kine and took local train to shinjuku.

Tried smoke egg vs black egg prefers smoke egg as it has a soya and smoked taste 😄 The 2nd room is so nice, love the view! Happy Birthday! I've been on that cable car! Although no view of Fuji as usual. This was back in 2005, the volcano area seems much nicer now than back then, but there was also that eruption a few years ago.
