I visited Tunisia in 2014. A fantastic country with a lot of Roman architecture. El Jem and Carthage are outstanding examples of it. Many very interesting places all over the country. Tunis National Bardo Museum has the most amazing and the biggest mosaics collection in the world. Not enough words in the dictionary to describe their beauty. Very warm and friendly people and excellent food. For veggie lovers simply a paradise.

Santorini views are more spectacular and appealing because of the steepness of the cliffs and it being an island, but I would say SidiBouSaid definitely has more depth and refinement to its architecture, there are surprises everywhere and a stroll around it can take you hours.

@Haley Dasovich "Tunisia is no tourist destination" In 2018 8 million tourists came to Tunisia and their total expenditure was 1.4 Billion dollars. Tunisia has always been amongst the top 5 destinations in the Mediterranean. Tourism also accounts for 8% of Tunisia's GDP. I hope that helps you get a clearer idea on tourism in Tunisia. In the meantime, everyone is welcome to visit and enjoy your stay. 😊

Aziz Ben Soltana the reason why I said it’s not tourist destination is because, from trying to research how to travel Tunisia on my own, most of the tours are dominated by all inclusive deals where you stay at one hotel the entire time. There is so much more to see, to travel around, and to experience in Tunisia than just staying at a beach at a hotel. This is why it’s a traveler’s paradise.

I’m so glad you did a video about Tunisia, Haley! It’s so underrated yet such an amazing country. My hubby and I were there for a month and our fave was probably staying with our Tunisian friends as they cooked us homemade couscous 😭😭 and chicken stew to put on top. Also... they have the best olive oil hands down!!! And the seafood from the fresh market was delicious. There’s actually a restaurant you can bring your seafood to and they’ll cook it for you right there and then. Anyway, can’t wait to go back!!!

Hi again, thank you for reading my comments. I have a couple of things I would like to add about Tunisia. The Greek poet wrote about an island where Ulysses and his men went ashore to get water, they've been given lotus flowers to eat, the lotus were as sweet as honey but doing so they lost their memories and became captives. I believe that the lotus flowers were confused with dates, there are palm trees in djerba and the dates are as sweet as honey. Further more. Tunisia is situated at the at the very top of the African continent. Amazingly, before the country was referred to as Tunisia, the Romans called it Africa, from then on, the whole african continent was named Africa. I hope that I expended your knowledge about Tunisia and please, look beyond my limited English perfection. Have a nice day, god bless and please come back again.

I'm tunisian and I'm amazed how quick you get all those small details about life, tips, which really help a lot to discover the deep side of the country...That's so smart. An congratulation for not loosing your sun glasses til the end of your journey... Ilived for a while in the USA as a french teacher in Louisiana and Americans don't even know Tunisia an never heard about it before..so thank you for what you're offering to us

@@iamokwithoutlovemylife6272 actually thats not true , most of younger people speak english and prefer english more than french . Old people speak arabic and french because we're a former french colony , also french and english are an obligation to study at school for at least 11 years for french and 8 or 7 for english .

reading the comments and seeing how many people want to visit our Tunisia after watching your video made my day. Tunisia is a wonderful place, everyone should visit it. we have the greatest touristic spots from northern tunisia down to the south. and i'd really like to mention the fact that in Tunisia we can wear whatever we want except in religious places ( one should be covered while being there). well done on the video, amazing editing, you've shown so many good places to visit (but trust me there are more spots to check out.) I really like this video. good job.

Awesome work! I love how real you are! As a Tunisian American very familiar with life in both countries I must say I was impressed of how Tunisian Katy is....you guys kept it super cheap and did not show a richer slightly fancier side of Tunisia and Tunisians but I think everything you showed was a real representation and nicely put together. My personal advice however with public transportation is to avoid Louages and cheaper busses as the slightly better/safer/cleaner option is still super cheap by US standards. Thank you, Great Work Hayley. PS: Tunisians are some of the biggest drinkers in the World, Tunisian beer and wine are not just tolerated they are a full grown prosperous industry that dates in the 1000's of years for us Tunisians ;)
