in case nobody caught this part, notice how one of the band members is wearing a chain necklace & not happy in different parts of the video. the chain necklace represents adulthood. when they’re not wearing it, they’re happy. this whole video is happy & fun just like childhood. they’re tired of fighting the constant :) oh! also - the two ringing sounds in this song sound like an alarm is going off sooo it’s like it’s time to wake up inside hehe I’ve already watched this video a gazillion times, it’s truly amazing.

I couldnt understand what this song was about when I first heard it. It wasnt until earlier this year, while visiting a place I haven't been in for almost 5 years, that I finally took in the lyrics full force and started to sob. It unlocked so many extra memories when I was a child, when I wanted nothing more than to live my own fantasy with my friends and family. Ive always been so afraid to go out and experience the world, move away from my parents, find my own career path in life, etc., and its partially because part of me still feels like a kid, like I haven't moved on to the next step and instead I'm just stuck in this in-between limbo of my childhood and my future.. Even though I just turned 20, its hard not to still feel like the runt of the litter, but to experience it all again one last time might be a push for me to finally decide "I'm waking up, it's time to grow."

This song is so all over the place instrumentally, like a lot of the time Josh’s vocals don’t seem to line up with anything, but that’s what makes it so COOL

I absolutely love 1:40-1:58. There's just such a feeling of pure contemplation in the shower and then immediately a transition into pure happiness and smiling in the wind. I love it.

Seeing all those great match cuts makes the fledgling cinematographer part of my brain kick into overdrive, what a fantastic music video and absolutely great music! the whole setting of this video actually reminds me of an art installation/collective near me called Meow Wolf, its uncanny how much the tone matches. After months of anxiety, she was finally giving me some really strong signs she liked me back. It was one of the best days of my life. I listened to this song on repeat that day. After a few months, I found out she never even liked me, and it changed my life. That day I found this song was almost a year ago now. Time flies!
