I don't think so. He may have found a bureaucracy like that oppressive, but his real reason for avoiding the Ministry was his fear that the power would go to his head.

@@zevfarkas5120 100% true. Hogwarts was a self assigned prison for him. He had been offered the position of minister for magic in the past and pretty much everyyone knows he coukd have taken control by force uf he wanted. Its one of the reasons the minustry was so woreied about him raising an army

@@MrMythulHogwarts was not a prison for Dumbledore. It was his job, and a job he loved. He was also not confined to Hogwarts, as he could come and go as he saw fit.

@@54raynor Yes, it was. He was offered the position of minister a few times. He directly denied this because he feared he would become too hungry for the power that it would provide. He actively says that he became headmaster of Hogwarts in order to dissuade him from this.

@@MrMythul again, that does not make Hogwarts a prison. That makes it a home. It’s a place where Dumbledore is comfortable and loves to be, and he can still go elsewhere when he wants or needs to do so. And staying at Hogwarts is a way of Dumbledore keeping out of his actual prison, which would be the Ministry.

Dumbledore loved Hogwarts. I never read that he considered it a prison. Bellatrix would have considered Voldemort's extreme displeasure a prison.

Voldemort really wanted them parents didn't he. Man went waaaay to far. I honestly like Voldemort because it was actually his mother's fault. She died instead of staying with her son and she had a wand so she could survive but she chose to die so she doesn't love her son so if she just stayed, Voldemort wouldn't have been evil and there wouldn't have been any of the wizarding world wars, Voldemort might have become good and if he wanted to extend power he would have actually got the spot as defence the dark arts teacher and other teachers wouldn't have died (like quirel) if his mother had stayed with him. Soz for it being so long I just really like Voldemort.

I think Dumbledore's prison as Hogwarts is pretty spot on. In his youth I believe that caring for Arianna would have been his prison but after her death Hogwarts was a self imposed prison. He wanted to get out into the world and be great but after her death and his failure to look after her he exiled himself to Hogwarts to remain a mere headmaster.
