Today I want to talk about one of my absolute favorite exercises - the half-kneeling KB press.
Now don’t get me wrong - I love the half-kneeling landmine press as much as anybody, but I think there’s also significant value in pressing overhead when it’s appropriate.
In this case, I really like the idea of “Lengthening Under Load” - trying to get tall in spite of a load pushing you down.
Here are some of my big rocks when it comes to the half-kneeling KB press:
☑️ 90-90 set-up from the front and side. Think about getting TALL thru the knee and hip.
☑️ When pressing, thinking about reaching LONG. Again, get TALL from top-to-bottom.
☑️ Try to find the Goldilocks load - one that’s not so heavy that you’re getting crushed, but also not so light you’re embarrassed to be doing the exercise 🤣
I’m a big fan of this exercise, not only for the benefits it can give you, but for the simple fact that it can be done with little to no equipment as well.
Give it a shot and let me know what you think!
