Alaska offers some of the best halibut fishing on the planet.Team Pautzke flew north to Valdez, motored through Prince William Sound and dropped lines in the Gulf of Alaska to sample this fishery with Valdez Outfitters. Armed with Halibut & Rockfish Nectar marinated herring action was epic as you'll see in this edition of Pautzke Outdoors. In a few hours we caught plenty of quality halibut and witnessed some of the most incredible scenery on the planet. Surrounded by bald eagles, mountain goats, killer whales, humpback whales, sea otters, orcas and glaciers it's a trip we'll never forget.

I do this on #25 mono trolling rod set up in 20 feet of water all the time! That’s fun times on the battle with light tackle in shallow! Makes the fishing that more fun! Tight Lines!

That's true, they are over fished, and remember, the charter fleet is only allotted 13 percent of the quota and in areas with a limit of 2 fish, we can only keep one of 28 inches or longer. I suspect these guys were "fun fishing" so they could keep 2 big ones and their annual limit for charter fishing obviously doesn't apply.
