Nintendo Switch has been getting all the controllers with magnetic hall effect thumbsticks to slap silly the stickdrift. With this $20 adapter you can use those Switch controllers on Xbox One and Series consoles, or PS4 games on the PS5. In this video I will test the input delay and give my thoughts on this budget friendly adapter.

I bought this adapter before even getting the controller, about a week or so ago I went to buy the Gulikit 2 but realized the 3 was out and bought it. Was sitting here trying to get it connect to the xbox one and it connected to the dongle but wouldn't work... I was so upset and thought it was a flop but thank you it works as long as an Xbox one control is connect to the console. That sucks but at least it works!

Great video! I have a question about the tests in this video: were they all done on a Dualshock, or also using the KingKong? I have been struggling with my KingKong Pro 2 for weeks now; tried BOTH of their dongles, all kinds of firmware combinations and tweaks, but I can't get better results than 16ms latency, 100hz, 5ms jitter...

Hey Kevin... really enjoy your controller and accessory reviews, easily the most thorough and comprehensive that can be found. I do have a request though......now that we have an additional controller adapter to go along side the Brooks adapters, I feel its very important that when you give controller reviews, you let us know weather or not the controller being reviewed is compatible with goku or the appropriate Brooks adapter (or both). I realize this creates more work for you but without a true comprehensive listing of comparability it would be very helpful. I often like a controller that you are reviewing thats not for my system and i dont pull the trigger on it because I dont know if its adapter compatible....I mean who wants to hassle with returns. I think its painfully obvious that neither Microsoft or Sony are going to allow any Hall effect controllers on the markert.... licensed or unlicenced. As a lifelong gamer, I find this to be one of the worst things the console gaming industry has ever seen. The idea of a company making a product that they know is going to fail in an inappropriate timeframe...coupled with the fact they have always had the solution to fix it makes me insane. Not only not fixing the problem....but making sure no one else can offer the remedy either just simply makes me want to hang up my stick drift ridden controller for good. End rant. I fully support Brooks Gaming and Gulikit for giving MS and Sony the bird and going around them to help the gaming community. Anyway, Thanks in advance Captain ...keep up the steller work

i'd love to see you review the 8bitdo wireless usb adapter 2 and then maybe do a comparison between this and the 8bitdo. the 8bitdo adapter 2 is also $20.

That Input delay measured with the adapter was ~128hz which seems like a polling rate lock. Any chance you can retest on pc via overclocking at 250hz to match the polling rate of the the stock controller test.

the gulikit controller does uses xinput/xbox which is polling rate locked

How does it effect input lag when connecting to PC? Will it be better than bluetooth? Also, on PC, can you use it with Direct and Switch input, or does in only work with Xinput?

Why don’t we live in a world where the standard controller that comes with Xbox or ps includes Hall effect, back buttons, hair triggers/trigger stops? And for me personally mouse click everything(triggers, bumbers, buttons and d-pad. Damn what a dream I’m in right now 😂🛌💭 This was supposed to be next gen, so actually I don’t see why at least some of these where included in the controllers that came with the “next gen” consoles.

Standard controllers are built to break so that you have to buy new ones more often. We will probably never see hall effect sticks on any first party controller, unless its ludrcriously expensive.

Im still waiting for the Dualsense Hall Effect joysticks for the Edge since those will be compatible with the regular Dualsense since they have the same tolerances.

My kk3 is not connecting to my PS5 through the Goku. I followed the instructions properly and watched many videos and it doesn't work. I first connected the PS5 controller to the adapter then plugged it into the PS5. Pressed the button on the Goku until fast flashing. I turned on kk3 and pressed the pairing button until it flowed left to right and so on. Both Goku and kk3 had solid lights but didn't feel any rumble nor does it control anything on the PS5. I've done this over and over and can't figure out what I'm missing. Any help please

I was so excited when I saw the title of this video because I thought I could finally play with a controller that has Hall Effect sensors on my Xbox, until I heard you have to have an original controller plugged in at all times, which is a deal breaker for me. I just want a Hall Effect sensor controller with rear paddles for my Xbox. Every single Elite Series 2 controller I've had came with stick drift out of the box. (I'm up to 10 or 11 I've exchanged) The adjustable thumbsticks are fundamentally flawed. Why can't Microsoft just make a quality first party controller with Hall Effect sensors, rear paddles, and mechanical buttons? It's so frustrating.

I have this exact adapter but cant get it to work on my PS5. Im aware only ps4 games can be played but i cant get it to move the cursor around the UI at all let alone play games. I followed the the instructions in the manual as well the introduction you gave in the video. Everything happened as said up to the controller vibrating indicating that its paired, but when i go to use it...nothing. Am i missing something?

I just bought the Goku adapter for my PS4. But it keeps disconnecting and after about 5 min I have to reconnect my KingKong 2 Pro. I followed the manual also set the PS4 controllers to never turn off but it doesn’t work. Does anybody know what I could do?

Awesome. But here is my question man. If you have to have a stock controller plugged in at all times. What if the controller you want to use is a wired one? Do you still have to have it plugged in? I would love to be able to use the GameSir t4 Kaleid on my xbox. But not if its gonna be all janky and require another controller be plugged in. Idk why xbox and ps dont have hall effect controllers yet, unless they're specifically telling them not to make them so they can keep selling us crap that breaks in a year.

Almost there. Soon for the PS5 hall sensor controller. I have a question, may be just coincidence, but one of my PS5 controllers that had stick drift stopped having it after a console update. Is it possible that Sony introduced a self calibration sw fix to counter some of the issues seen by customers?

I bought the "worse" adapter just to use with my Gulikit controller with PC because Bluetooth on windows is just hot carbage. I also thought that 2.4GHz would lower the input lag, not increase it. Have you compared the input lag with just using BT to connect it to PC compared to using the adapter 2.4GHz?

I have been using the gulikit controller connect to my pc using bluetooth adapter got around 9ms of delay barely noticeable for me atleast.

From what I understand 2.4 Ghz is the standard because it offers a good balance of speed, stability, and connection, so it is going to have some limitations on the high end of every vector because it is trying to be an all-rounder. not the fastest for latency but it makes up elsewhere.

My Savior Kevin, i was looking for a way to use my king kong pro V2 with the ps5 console. I cant stand using the cronus zen just to get this controller to work. Its a similar method to the one being use in your video. You just need to connect the PS5 duelsense controller first then connect the King Kong Pro 2. The problem with the zen when you have both controller connected the gulikit controller starts to vibrate. I will order this adapter and see the difference i don't mind the input lag if i am able to play PS5 games with my King Kong Pro 2.

Combine this controller with a Besavior controller, and you can play ALL PS5 games. Great option and it works great. I have no means of checking delay, but I can't notice any delays.

@@nooraabdeen9125 Besavior has a Bluetooth mode which allows any other Bluetooth controller to be connected through it and be recognized as a native PS5 controller. That allows for the ability to play all PS5 games with an aftermarket controller. Hope that helps.

So i just recently bought one of these for my original Xbox one, cause not a single wireless works on my console, so i bought this to help with that. But when i pair the Xbox Controller to the adapter.......nothing happens at all. Do i have to have another controller plugged into the adapter inorder to use it? And i dont have the Gulikit controller to even use with it.

They are advertised to work for Gulikit King kong controller. To make the goku work, you need to have an original xbox controller controller connected to it via cable.

Hello! I’m just a casual Xbox gamer and I don’t really know to much about all of this. But I’m so sick of stickdrift and thinking of buying the Gulikit King Kong controller or whatever it’s called. But for that to work on my Xbox I need this adapter. And the adapter should be plugged up to my other Xbox controller as I understand. My question is, as my old Xbox controller (that will be plugged up with the adapter) has stick drift, will that affect the other controller in any way? Any answer would be helpful! Thanks!

Tienes que conectar un control de xbox one o series X/S en la entrada usb trasera del adaptador goku y posteriormente emparejar el control inalámbrico que vas usar, si no haces todo este proceso jamás vas a poder usar otros controles con el adaptador goku

Yes it will effect it i got one and it always interferes with a guilkit controller because the original controller has to be always on

@@Hunt89x I tried it and it worked long as you don't touch the analog when you turn on the controller and I just leave it connected in the front. And it wasn't losing any connection. Maybe I just got blessed, But I do see some people complaining about it losing connection but I haven't experienced that and the only time the controller was drifting is when I touch the analog but when I turn the controller off and turn it back on it didn't do it again

Unfortunately for me the original xbox controller drift without even me touching the analog stick which makes it problem when I connect the gulikit

And when I turn off my xbox and turn it on back i got to reconnect the gulikit controller again I don’t why it doesn’t reconnect be it self

@@romeo3373 I did but it was a long process that required you to have a PC, which luckily my brother had. I’m not sure how he did it but it worked, but then I returned it due to the fact that the input delay was so noticeable for me.

why cant we get a halleffect stick on a controller with 4 rear buttons ....thats all i want ....preferably a dualsence 4 the overclocking but no.....meh i will pay 300$+ for a standard looking controller with these features..hall effect thumbs n 4 rear buttons regardless of what its made 4 or looks like aslong as its pc compatible ...i have even attempted to make prototypes myself how dose this not exist yet. with the thousands of diffrent pro controllers fighting for a slice of the pie in the pro controller market.

Dont think "noticeable delay" means what you think it does when you say, i didnt notice any delay while playing but running the tester there is noticeable delay. wouldnt that then be unnoticeable delay? if you need a program to show you it?

I got this months ago. I hate how mines keeps disconnecting on PS4 every 8 min or so even tho I have my controller settings to never turn off and might be defective. This is pretty much the worse adapter ever.

I can't wait for the new DualSense Edge Guikit Hall Effect swappable joystick modules. You will never have to purchase Sony's swappable sticks ever again. But... I do wonder how Sony will respond to these new Gulikit Hall effect sticks though. Sony made the DualSense Edge with one of its prominent features being that you can now purchase replacement joysticks instead of forking out $70 for a new controller if drift starts to occur. We all know Sony is about making money, and that means they want you to buy their new swappable joysticks. Have 3rd party companies step in to fix stick drift forever may not sit well. Sony wouldn't make any money selling their new joysticks if a 3rd party eliminates the problem entirely. If the new Gulikits joysticks work flawlessly, and Sony doesn't like it, they could update the controller at any time to prevent its use. Unless Gulikit can somehow trick PlayStation into thinking you're using authentic DualSense Edge joysticks. Although, that could lead into legal troubles via Sony's swappable stick patent. The counterargument for Gulikit would be the patented Hall Effect that is not patented by Sony. Instead of Sony being the bad guy again by threatening legal action, like what we saw with the DBrand PS5 Plate fiasco, Sony should bite the bullet and develop their own Hall Effect sticks right now and push this as an optional upgrade for their new DualSense Edge Controllers. Hall Effect joysticks are simply the future of gaming controllers. Stick drift has gone on long enough, and it's time for Sony and Microsoft, and of course Nintendo to accept the fact that, yes they will sell fewer controllers due to drift no longer being an issue, but can combat this by developing multiple yearly controllers that offer slight differences in aesthetics whether it being comfort or slight alternative designs, but still provide the vibe and level of quality we expect from PlayStation, Xbox, or Nintendo controllers. They simply can not keep selling controllers they know will drift for profit anymore. Great video by the way Gamer Heaven! A very detailed and a straight up honest review without the bullshit. God, am l asking too much for some third party company make a NATIVE controller with hall effect for xbox consoles and PlayStation, IS THAT TOO MUCH TO ASK, WE WANT IT FOR YEARS!!!!!! EVEN ANDROID WHO DOESN'T SO MANY NATIVE GAMES HAVE IT, BUT WE DON'T.
