Hall of Famer Dan Hampton couldn't be happier with Bears draft

When the Packers beat the Bears in the 2023 season finale, Dan Hampton said in a perfect world the Bears would land Caleb Williams and Rome Odunze. That happened and the Hall of Fame defensive lineman couldn't be happier. A big thank you to Dan Hampton for his dedication and the tenacity that he brought to the Chicago Bears. That man is a true legend. He played hurt so many games with his bad knees, it was unbelievable to watch him give his all every single game. God Bless Steve McMichael he is a true warrior and fighter and such an inspiration. I am so happy that he made the hall of fame too. So many great legends on those Bears teams that brought us so much pride and joy.

The 2022-24 Bears draft classes reminds me of the 1982-84 Bears draft classes. Hampton was drafted a couple of yrs earlier but the stage was set after Wilber Marshall, Shaun Gayle, and Ron Rivera were added in 84. That next yr was insane! 🐻⬇

@@SteveWilliams-zp1vg The 82 draft the Bears drafted QB Jim McMahon and RB Denis Gentry in the backfield with Walter Payton (Offense). In that 83 draft the Bears drafted O-linemen Tom Thayer, Jimbo Covert, Mark Bortz, and WR Willie Gault (offense). They also drafted Richard Dent and Dave Dureson(defense). It wasn't till 84 when they drafted Wilbur Marshall, Shaun Gayle, and Ron Rivera that the Bears defense started to gell. The offense wasn't bad, but the defense was great. So it wasn't all defense that won the Superbowl in 85. Jimmy Mac was a smart but tough QB.

In the third game they were getting their asses kicked , until McMahon came in his first two passes threw two TD's almost threw a third in a row if the third hadn't been dropped. he did later throw another one. This in age where scroing was not that high. In the next game they scored 44. In the SB they scored 46. So don't tell me they won with defense alone.

Nice interview. Precise on point questions. And Dan bringing it with common sense insights and a depth of knowledge about this Bears team. Hopefully Ryan Poles will continue to make upgrading the O Line a top priority. Right now they’re just so so and not a lot of depth. And that’s what will allow Caleb Williams and this Bears offense to succeed. You have to have the protection and security for the QB. Within three years the goal should be to have a top 7-10 O Line in the NFL. I mean look at Lions, Ravens, Chiefs. All top O Lines. All major playoff forces.

Packers won the draft... AGAIN. 5 of the Top 91 and 11 overall. That’s why they’re really good, even though they are the youngest team in the league

Disagree he's played mostly at guard and he's a projected center. His signing is a projection not a certainty of anything

The skill positions are set for this season. The big question is going to be the offensive line. Health will be important, as will improvement from Davis, Jones, and whoever starts at center. If we have multiple starting offensive linemen missing 4+ games again, we're in trouble.

Danimal looks great. After Payton he's a big a Chicago Bears legend as there has ever been. He's definitely on the Bears Mount Rushmore.

Players are just part of the equation . The big question will be the coaching and most if play calling. Not stupid stuff like 2 and 28 go for a 3 yard screen that we suck at or a quarter-back sneak or a reverse end around

We have two second round draft picks next year.Don't be surprised if Poles make a move before the trade deadline to bolster the D if needed.

And possibly 3 3rd round picks if Ian Cunningham gets a GM job, if he does the Bears get 2 3rd round picks in addition to the 3rd round pick they already do. That would be 6 picks in the first 3 rounds. I'd hate to lose Ian but at least there is compensation. 🐻⬇️ ✌️✝️

Should have kept Fields and traded the #1 pick for an even greater haul. Other than that, it's a good draft. Fields is going to prove all you hater wrong. Williams will be gone in 2-3 years.

Dan Hampton was my second favorite Bear Player of course Payton was first! Dan gave everything he had to the Bears, after 13 knee surgery’s Dan had to retire!

@@thadtheman3751 yes I remember watching that game the bears vs the raiders in 1984 when Jim McMahon had a lacerated kidney pissing blood. That game was the most brutal hard hitting game I ever watch!!!! The Bears knocked out all of the raiders QBs they they was down to punter Ray Guy as emergency QB but he refused to go in to play QB so one of the injured QBs gone back in 😂 I believe you can still watch that game on KZfaq.
