Simply beautiful. I showed my daughter this so even though she is raised in a foreign land she always remembers her heritage.... she cried when she heard it. Arohanui to you all.

I was in an exchange program a few years ago and I remember my Tikanga Maori class, my teacher always tried to connect us with the maori culture through music. The last song we sang before I had to come back was this one and it's one of my best memories by far of New Zealand. I really miss it, I hope one day I'll be able to come back. Lots of love for all your people

Otaatara Marae a perfect setting for such a perfect version of hallelujah in our maori tongue. Well done to all the tamariki involved and great job to the whaia's and matua's who made it possible. Ka mau te wehi !!!

my Kapa Haka teacher showed us kids this last year and everyone fell in love with the song and now I'm at high school and mostly everyone at school knows this song! I love it ❤

Love listening to this waiata sung by my nieces & nephews at Kaikohe Intermediate. My cuzzy Kuia everytime i hear Honeys beautiful voice it gets one all teared up..lol. Nun of us can hit those notes like Honey does xox. Proud of u all xox

Ahahahaha fark that's true right there. I sing & talk in Reo only after a few. It's a conundrum considering how very proud I am to be Maori but can only express that if I have an excuse to hide that pride i.e alcohol.

This is Te Kura Takawaenga o Kaikohe, Northland and the marae they are at is Otatara Marae, Waima, Hokianga. This roopu came first in the Tai Tokerau regional kapahaka for primary/intermediate section and will be competing this year in Tauranga for the Nationals in november 2013.
