I feel bad for these people in Houston. Very good examples why people should be self prepared for these issue and not depend on the government. The government cannot always help in certain situations. Self prepared is always better. I live in a hurricane area we are always prepared.

The reality of the Electric Grid in Texas? Most of it is NOT part of the 2 major Grids in this Country, if they were, they would have to comply with minimum requirements related to hardware and backups. The reason they are not, is because it would cost them money, that would cut down on their profits.

Corporate greed, the monopolization of utility corporations with zero accountability thanks to a 100% corrupt Republican Party firmly in their pockets, & the same corrupt politicians being completely incompetent at putting forth any type of meaningful regulations to make sure the infrastructure gets fixed or maintained is THE REAL PROBLEM. Seems pretty dumb to blame the citizens for not preparing* for constant failures. *Maybe when voting time comes & they vote Republican, they should be warned how their choice will require that more of that preparation.

Baldwin ... this is a fatal work accident. It should be before a workers' compensation board to refer the matter to law enforcement only after it has been ruled a non-accident. Otherwise a crime could then be re-ruled an accident. It would then be absurd to have an accident a crime.

With the cost of stuff we should be getting the best products ever but yet we have to worry about lead, pesticides, chemicals like preservatives and weather or not it is real of lab grown, it is crazy. When will Americans stand up? It is not like we are all not connected because we are with the media and social media we could stand up and protest around the country. I know a lot of people will say ya but we have to work, I say that is even more reason to stand up the protest needs to be about stop working and join the protest because it has to do with such a wide range of issues and we are all standing up. Everyone should gather at their state house building and stand and protest in every state. It would be worth the drive just to stand and say no more we are not taking it anymore it stops now. As a nation we could do it if we all stand together as one.
