No sequel was ever intended after the first one, the studio forced him to do this one. The first one was scary at the end, because they showed all the places he's been to with his breathing getting heavier, and heavier. We're basically being told he could be nowhere, or everywhere, because he, according to carpenter who wrote him, he was to be the actual boogeyman that you can't kill. The bad guy basically wins end of story, carpenter wanted to do a new Halloween movie every halloween, but as an anthology series, with every movie being about something different. Well that started with halloween 3, but it was looked at so poorly, that 5 years later we get a Halloween 4 with Myers back as he was so popular. I was a security guard at this fake hospital back in like 2011. It's a VA complex in the san fernando valley in socal. I was there for a few days wondering why some of the shit looked familiar, as they had remodeled most of it, but there were some brick buildings from the movie that gave it away. The garbage area where the guard gets kills still looks exactly the same. The guy getting out of the cop car after killing the kid is the guy who plays michael myers dick warlock, the greatest name ever.

My siblings and I love this movie. We are very good at mimicking things that we got from our dad side of the family so we would just randomly say “I shot him six times!” and sound just like Dr. Loomis🤣

I actually find this sequel scarier than the 2018 one. The only down side is the stupid sibling plot twist. It kind of ruins and limits the rest of the sequels before the recent reboot.

Halloween 2 was essentially an obligation for John Carpenter to produce, rather than a random anthology style movie set on the night of Halloween like they wanted Halloween 2 needed to be a Michael Myers film however it does have qualities in its own respect and is a worthy sequel, they got a chance to do a random unconnected installment with Halloween 3 Season of the witch, it went on to do its own thing having nothing to do with the Previous movies with Michael Myers, its rather divisive by the fan base but its gained a cult following, they eventually opted to go back to the series roots in Halloween 4 Return of Michael Myers the title is self explanatory.

Yes definitely continue with the Halloween. Movies. Theres 3 timelines essentially, all ignore Halloween 3 season of the witch btw thsts its own story. Originally Carpenter had an anthology series of movies planned with him being done with Michael after the first 2 that you've seen but the fans wanted more Michael so they continued with Halloween 4, 5, 6 H20 and Resurrection however those were done under different directors, writers etc but their version of the same Michael you see here. First timeline is H1, H2, H4, H5, H6, H20, H Resurrection Second timeline H1, H2, H20, H Resurrection Third timeline H1, Halloween 2018, Halloween kills(later this year) and next year Halloween Ends. This timeline ignores every Halloween movie including this movie you saw because carpenter wanted it so Michael is not related to Laurie at all which was the case in the original timeline of films. There's also rob zombies rebooted universe from 2007 and his sequel Halloween 2 which is entirely separate universe. This info will help you once you see all of them and you won't be lost continuity wise.

Like I stated in the comment I left in your. Reaction to the first Halloween movie John Carpenter. Planned a anthology movie series for Halloween. So Michael Myers was never supposed to be seen ever again. After the first Halloween movie. John Carpenter had no plans for Michael Myers whatsoever because. He was done with Michael Myers Halloween 2 was supposed to have a completely new story an antagonist . But the movie studio interfered an insisted that Michael Myers be the antagonist in Halloween 2. Wich is why John Carpenter reluctantly agreed to work on it. Then only on the terms that the movie studio would. Give him complete freedom to do whatever he wanted. In Halloween 3 with no movie studio interference. They agreed to this terms thats the only reason John Carpenter worked on this movie. Thats why at the end John Carpenter ended it like he did. By basically kinda blowing Michael Myers up an burning him. Then having him collapse it was John Carpenters way. Of saying see Michael Myers is officially dead now. He's never coming back so he could move on. With his anthology movie series idea but Halloween 3 season of the witch. Did poorly in the movie theaters because thanks to movie studio interference. In Halloween 2 by them insisting that Michael Myers be the antagonist again. People thought Michael Myers would be the antagonist in Halloween 3. It'll keep getting weirder from here... 3 is a fun romp without Michael, and worth watching for how bizarre it is, but the others before H20 are just a mess 😅. H20 and Resurrection finish this version of Laurie's story. Halloween 2018 doesn't treat any except the original as canon, but did a great job of revitalizing the franchise after the abysmal Rob Zombie reboots. 😅

Originally Michael and Laurie were not supposed to be siblings it was just a half assed idea John carpenter got from writers block and a six pack of Budweiser beer
