This is my imaginary Halloween movie ambience happy place. A Halloween ambience video set in a suburban living room sometime in the 1980s, on Halloween night. There’s a blood moon in the sky and a big bowl of candy for the neighborhood trick-or-treaters.
Relics of horror movies past and various 80s iconography are scattered around the room. Movie posters, Fangoria Magazines, horror VHS tapes, Atari and more.
The featured presentation is 1968’s “Night of the Living Dead” by one of the godfathers of horror, George A. Romero. But like so many of us, we just can’t seem to keep our hands off the remote control. We’ll see bits and pieces of commercials, cartoons, variety shows, and other movies, all themed around the spookiest season.
I hope this gives you the comfortable, nostalgic vibes that it gives me. Grab a Snickers or a slice of pizza and a cheap beer and let’s get started!

For anyone who is a stickler for keeping the timeline straight, I’ll admit now that there are a few incongruities. I don’t think this Hitachi television would have had a remote control, so channel surfing would have required standing at the TV and turning the knob. The Pizza Hut box may not be quite period accurate. And those holiday lights look more like modern LEDs. I did my best, so don’t beat me up too much in the comments! 😊
