Saw it minutes ago. It was horrible, the Corey storyline, Michael barely in it and they totally messed up his persona. The ending was also pure trash.

It's really disappointing to hear that this was a flop, I had a lot of hype for this film and the marketing made it seem like a solid horror movie but I guess that's not the case but I'm still gonna watch it because I'm a Michael Myers film and I have always loved this franchise but I'm a bit skeptical on my opinion

I like how the Halloween films sort of get released in these clusters, first: Halloween (1978), H2 and H3, then: Return, Revenge and Curse, followed by: H20 and Resurrection, then: Rob Zombie's Doulogy, and now this new trilogy. They all have their own faults, but I apprieciete that there are so many ways to watch this franchise.

It was kind of a long gap in between Revenge and Curse. I was...(quick math) 13 when Curse came out, and when trailers popped up it was like, "oh shit! I thought they quit making these. This is great!" haha

i enjoyed ends more than kills, my biggest problem with kills is that the tonality of it is so bland and droning that michael could have fell into a vat of acid that would have caused a nuclear meltdown and killed everyone within a 1000 mile radius and you still wouldn't have given a shit. also curse of michael myers has some of the best kills in the franchise

This movie was so so terrible I agree I wish I was there going over the movie with the creators, screenwriters, and directors I would have given them that dumb look and tell them to go back to the drawing board they could have done way way better with Corey I was excited for his character.

I just hate how everybody is saying divisive. Even before it came out and the leaks were saying oh man watch out it’s going to be divisive, let’s be honest. They made a Halloween movie that completely shit on the characters that everyone wanted to see and made an entire movie about somebody they introduced us to in the first scene. Nobody cares about that kid. Nobody wanted to see anything about him and all he did was make stupid decisions and take screen time away from the characters we really wanted to see. This movie is a hot pile of trash and that is putting it nicely.

That is funny you say that. My cousin called me on Friday afternoon after him and his brother got out of the movie. He was so mad he had to call me. We are all diehard Myers fans. He told me that’s the point he would have walked out of his brother wasn’t with him. His brother thought the same thing! Lol. I would have to. I watched it with my son, niece and wife on my sisters peacock account and I wanted to turn it off. It was horrible. Anyone that has one good thing to say about it is a fool.

@@jdcursed4800 sadly I'm not, my post was a joke. Cory's inclusion seems tacked on at best and a bait and switch at worst. Had they had a clear vision of the trilogy from conception they could have woven Cory through all 3 movies and concluded with a very satisfying character arc. OR better yet, they could have never introduced him and given us what we actually wanted to see, Michael Myers.

It's because the Corey Cunningham script already existed before they decided to cram Halloween stuff into it. It's a repurposed drama script. That's why it feels so wrong and disjointed.

I honestly feel like my heart has been ripped out of my chest 💔 Michael has been through the ringer in the last few movies but he was sooooo weak in this one. I didn’t have the highest of expectations and I expected him to die but wow this really wasn’t it. I’m stunned.

The story felt like one of the stories from the scripts mentioned in the Taking Shape book; where you'd catch yourself thinking "that was an interesting and fun read but I'm glad they didn't go that direction"

Yeah... my mouth dropped. I feel like they did make some pretty nice choices but some really strange ones as well. I also believe they tried to take some of the best of the other timelines and blend them. Edit: I'm really happy for it being on Peacock. I would've been disappointed if I had to pay at the local theater and a babysitter

The fact that they dropped the original Halloween 2 from time line, tells me a lot. Back in the 80's..H2 was the one that was played every Halloween season and him walking the Hospital hallways is iconic.

If they kept the original H2 timeline with this new trilogy it would have explained Laurie's PTSD a bit better. She spent 40 years preparing for a possible return of a random boogie man who terrorized her for a singular day.. If he was still her brother then that would hit a bit harder at home for sure.

@@cartersmopargarage440 Exactly right. They tried to explain that in one sentence of Kills, and it completely falls flat and makes no sense. Allison says, "[Laurie] was Dr. Sartain's obsession, not Michael's." HUH????? WTF???? As if that explains anything to do with Michael staying in Haddonfield after he escapes, finding Laurie, stalking her, and trying to kill her.... when Dr. Sartain isn't even around. SOOOOOOO LAME. DGG might be a great director, but he (and his team) must be the WORST writers in the business.

I understand your feelings. I am 40yrs old and have been watching Halloween movies since I was a kid. It is actually very refreshing to see Michael go in different directions and the way Halloween Ends humanizes Michael in my opinion is GENIUS! Your videos are awesome, watch you all the time. Humanizing Michael is the worst thing to do in my opinion. Him seeming inhuman has been what made him scary. Like you, I am also 40 and have loved the halloween franchise. But this movie was terrible the way the portrayed Meyers, my opinion of course.

I said the same thing when I saw this in the theater. Michael never had a partner, and could have easily killed Cory when he first went down in the sewer the very first time he saw him. I was so disappointed with that concept. It was like this was a totally different imposter Michael Myers in this movie in my opinion.

The audience like you don’t know who Michael is. That’s why. He’s no one. He’s a just a shape. The shape could be anyone. The victim could be anyone. Laurie had no familial ties to Michael, at least as originally intended. Michael was also a no one as originally intended. He was just evil. And he saw evil in Corey.

I’m going to go see it tomorrow just because it’s tradition to see these big horror franchises in theaters. So sad that Lindsey is sidelined but I’m excited to at least get a conclusion to the story, bad or good. At least it’ll leave the room open for new interpretations and stories down the line. Yo each time Michael stabbed the guy in the sewer, he went from slow and crippled to twitching and appearing to heal immediately 😳 and I noticed also that Corey seemed to become possessed by looking into Michael's eyes

Have to disagree. If he 'became evil' by looking into Michael's eyes, he'd have had no issue with killing the homeless man or the cop. Killing the homeless man in self defense begins his turn, but Allyson not seeing him as a monster allows him to temporarily resist. He lured the cop to Michael (Someone that Cory absolutely should have had zero issue with killing if he was possessed) because he still didn't know if he could intentionally kill. It's not that evil transferred, its that Michael saw the same lost look in Cory's eyes that are in his own. The entire point was to show you that both Michael and Cory were just men that society turned into monsters because the real monsters are the people of society. We see it all the time in real life. We judge people a certain way regardless of whether we know it to be truth or not. People keep saying your a monster, you're eventually bound to become one.

You nailed it! This is a good, fairly accurate review. I’ve never been so disappointed in a movie! This made part 6 look like an Award winning epic! Halloween has always been my favorite slasher flick! Waited an extra year to get this & they give us about 10 mins of a broken, sad excuse for Michael Myers! All you who like to debate who’s best, this Michael Myers would be eaten alive by Freddy, Jason, & Leatherface! So disappointed! I hope we get a reboot that doesn’t stick the landing sometime in the near future.

This is why I love H20 more as a true finale to the original Halloween. Yes, I know Resurrection messed that up, but nobody considers it a sequel to H20. In fact, I see it more as a what-if/alternate timeline movie. H20's finale feels more epic and fresher (which it really was during 1998), adding a more three-dimensional Laurie Strode, and a true end. Also, knowing that they will continue this franchise in some way, I hope we get to see the return of Danielle Harris as Jamie Llyod.

I'm so excited for this last movie!! I enjoyed watching Halloween Kills last years and feeling emotional since I went to see it with my dad. My dad was the one who introduced me to the Halloween movies when I was little and since then they've been my favorite movies and Michael being tm favorite slasher character. I'm so happy to be able to watch it next week, since I am outside the U.S and want to watch the movie in English.

There is no way a 20 year old kid could tussle with Michael in a 1v1 strength battle and win and take what he took from him. Michael is to strong for that and should've easily won that scuffle with that 20 year old kid. In all honesty Michael should not have lost that fight whatsoever to a 20 year old kid. I’m a big Micheal Myers fan and had been worried about this film with how they kept marketing it. It got me feeling the movie wouldn’t be good. And with you now saying this will be the most divisive movie yet I’m even more worried but I’m still gonna give it a chance!

As someone who has Halloween Kills as their favorite this one is very middle of the road for me right now but it requires several rewatches because the more i think about it the better it connects with the other two movies

Glad you at least gave a movie chance, but I heard that the version on Peacock, will probably be the less divisive version, that was shown at the test screening, so you might wanna, see that version too 🙂.

I've seen the movie last night, and I'll be honest. It feels like Michael took Freddy and Jason's homework for FVJ and changed it up to be completely different. Now I'm not sure if I'm the only one who had gotten that vibe from it or not, but that's the way I saw it.

Spot on. I have been a Halloween fan since about the age of four. My family are good people but they were very open to letting us watch stuff we shouldn't have been allowed to then lol. I walked away with a mixed bag of emotion. Your rating scale, spot on. From the stars, all the way down to the labeling for critic. My family and I are all fans, and after we typically watch a horror film there is about an hour to an hour and a half of discussion on our take. All of us said the same thing. Movie was essentially useless up until about the last 20 minutes. We all however were satisfied with the actual conclusion of the final fight. All of us walked away with somewhat closure from our childhood boogeyman. But again, disappointed in the actual story of the film. Thanks for putting out this content and honest review. Definitely subscribing to your channel after that one.

Really liked a few of the things to come from this movie, mainly the utilization of one character in specific. I thought they could have stuck the landing a bit better but overall on the grand scale of things this was a solid Halloween movie to add to the franchise.
