Lol the ending was so unexpected but I think it would have been funnier if he tripped or accidentally missteped and fell. Then Michael walks up to him and tilts his head to the side before delivering the striking blow.

Plot twist: The wooded area/stream is the respawn point and you have to make it to the middle of the city to escape in a get-away vehicle. Bathrooms and houses are save-points that always trigger an encounter with Micheal Myers.
