Today we're breaking down the Disney Channel Original Movie "Halloweentown 2: Kalabar's Revenge" which came out in 2001, 3 years after the original. In this installment, Kimberly J Brown plays Marnie Cromwell who has to defeat Kalabar's son, Cal, with Debbie Reynolds, by chasing down a bunch of random clues in a tragic excuse for a sequel. To the point where I'm actually mad about it! As always, don't forget to like and subscribe! This! But I also love that they're able to have some humor about it, throwing in some jokes along with a more serious message. Nick is always able to do this so well with any more "serious" or political message they throw in the mix with the more light hearted vibe of the rest of the video. Congrats on your recovery! You got this! 😘

Same. When I was four, we went for a ride on my great uncle's boat. It was after dark when we got back, and I was walking - already WALKING - down the gangplank when my father said, "Be careful, Mary. If you slip, you'll fall in the water and no one will ever see you again." And I looked down at the black, shining water under me and I thought their were child-stealing monsters in there. Honestly, if he had told me I would drown I think it would have scared me less.

@@Enigmatic_Lurker It sounds stupid, but when I was a kid, our family’s meat grinder just disappeared. We couldn’t remember that we were giving it to someone and for sure no guest would have a reason to take it or even technically left the house with a huge meat grinder. Just out of curiosity, we searched every room very carefully and just agreed that it disappeared 😅

40:29 That really is dumb. Now everyone who just says 'Apart' or 'Trap A' just casts a spell. Clearly it's not based on intent if Marnie can do it accidentally. Plus it's been established that non-wizards can use magic so there's no reason why this place shouldn't be constantly switching between Gray Spell and Non-Gray Spell. Maybe Marnie's desire to fix things triggered the spell, I mean Cromwells are super magic and Marnie's half-human so maybe she has more power in a way. But yeah I've put more effort into my rant/theory than this film put into their plot/makeup/characterization.

Since it’s spooky season, I thought I’d suggest a Clip Breakdown of “The Haunting Hour: Don’t Think About It.” When I was a kid I loved this movie. I feel like this is a great time to mention again that Gwen was some sort of fundamentalist Christian in the books, so most of her behavior aligns with that even in the film adaptations. Awesome video as usual! Finally, someone echoes some of my thoughts on this movie! I’ve always thought this was my least favorite Halloweentown, because I find it so boring. But everyone else my age loves it, and it’s been hard to talk about my feelings on it in relevant spaces without it’s fans getting offended. Even some of the people who don’t get upset at hearing I like it the least have to try to come up with reasons for how someone can possibly dislike it beyond thinking it’s boring and a waste of potential, that imply some kind of personal failings on my part. Because it’s unthinkable to them not to hold this movie up as the best in the series. And it never helps when people find out I like Halloweentown High better than II. Someone actually said the reason I might feel this way about Halloweentown II might be because I “don’t like darker movies, with scary scenes”. Like, as someone who genuinely loves horror: What? I was old enough when Halloweentown II came out that I couldn’t find it even remotely scary. And it’s really not that dark at all, especially compared to other classic kid-friendly movies from our generation, like Nightmare Before Christmas. Now don’t get me wrong, I may not love this movie, but it has a lot of good things about it. And I think Halloweentown High is an objectively worse movie, even if I like it more. It’s just enjoyably bad to me compared to finding II a little more dull, but still executed better. The first Halloweentown, and Return to Halloweentown are my jam though, no mixed feelings there!

NICK. When I was a wee child I went to my friend Elizabeth's house and saw a movie about a movie star who comes back to life as a vampire and haunts one of his fans and it traumatized the F*$K out of me for YEARS... I tracked it down as an adult and it turns out it wasn't a movie, it was an anthology series and the episode I watched doesn't even involve a vampire! Kids are so dumb, lol. But anyway, it IS about a movie star who comes back to life and terrorizes a superfan and it is WEIRD. Words cannot describe how utterly bizarre, campy and 80's this TV show really is. I doubt anyone but me has any nostalgia for it, but I would LOVE watching you tear it apart!!! The TV series was called Monsters, it debuted in 1988, and the episode I saw was called "Rerun." Pleeeeeaaaaaassseeeee track it down for me!!! 🙏🙏🙏

Excuse you, I loved Monsters - but yes, some episodes were really silly or just weird. My favorite is called "Holly's House" and it's about a life size animatronic doll who gets possessive of her handler when she finds out she's pregnant and considers quitting the show. The intro alone is so incredibly fun. I used to watch that, Tales from the Dark Side (an anthology series and a decent movie), Alfred Hitchcock Presents, and Unsolved Mysteries all the time!
