At low tide you can scramble round from North Hallsands but watch out for cliff-falls and the incoming tide. However the erosion continues and there is considerable recent damage to the coast at North Hallsands in front of new cottages and also below the old Trout Hotel above the old lost village. It is still fascinating and the presentation on the viewing platform is excellent. A beautiful coast line.

Came accross Hallsands as a kid, walking one evening from Beesands. Very creepy atmospheric place.

I used to be able to access all of the ruins whilst staying at the Hotel owned by Dave and Carol Light but even Hallsands Hotel has gone now.

41 years ago you could walk down to the old ruins but not any more. The old coastal path has gone too, dropped into the sea. I loved the old hotel the 3 sisters had, Trout Hall. Most of the garden has gone in the sea too. Just a matter of time and the rest will go.

I was there last year (2013) and really wanted to go visit the remains after reading a book about thee village and its perish to the sea..Just a shame it had already been shut off to the public because of more erosion.

Actually a barn hasnt fallen in the sea? it was part of a shed!

Nice - is it possible to access any of the remains at any time? I'm toying with the idea of making the trip if so.

Further recent landslides meant a barn fell into the sea and the viewing platform is cordoned off. :(
