I love the work 343 put into showing just how Pissed Hunters get when you kill their bond brother, they shriek, reeling up and splaying out their back tendrils, firing their cannon without pause, relentlessly pursuing you like a rabid dog, trying to smash you into a pulp, you're able to tell the exact moment the fight becomes personal to it, and it's beautiful.

As a kid, hunters were always my favorite covenant. They just looked like something you should never ever mess with and when the got angry, they just went berserk. I have and always will love their design

It's crazy how much less aggressive regular Hunters are compared to the Banished Hunters. If they fired their Fuel Rod Cannon more often they would probably win most of these fights.

I love how the Chieftains are just as much of a threat as the Hunters. They felt too easy before, but now they're like the damn Tartarus fight in Halo 2

If only this game had blood decals. Imagine how cool that room would have looked with tons of hunter and brute blood everywhere in addition to all the bodies strewn about. I really, really, *really* want blood back in Halo (and, no, the little spurts of blood that come out when you shoot them don’t count).

in my head canon the only brutes or elites who can best a hunter in single combat is a hero level character.

Sad that some hitboxes are broken but cool to see. I find these Brute Chieftains the coolest in the game.

What a beautiful, interesting carnage. Although Hunters have the edge 1v1, Brutes are far more reactive, dangerous and aggressive and far more effective as a group.

The hunters rage attack, where they shoot multiple shots in short time is the closest thing we will get to the old beam canon

Just add Jetpacks and this is HW2 again. I do like how the Hunter AI works in pairs. One is shooting while the other is scooting.

hunters are individually much stronger, but chieftains are much more aggressive, have a way larger awareness radius and have way better AOE damage, so they work better together in large scale battles... until battles are large enough that hunters can use their range advantage and fire their weapons more often without bunching up

It was more or less fair, the problem with hunters is their melee attack frequency.

enraged Banished hunters would mop the floor against pretty much everything.

Why didn't the side swipes hit for the Brutes? It effectively eliminated half of their attacks.

This is why Hunters were horrifying to fight for any species... Both Sangheilli and Jiralhanae feared the Mgalekgolos for their might and durability. Pretty sure the Covenant lost an Arbiter when they tried subjugating the Mgalekgolo species. Tis why I a Hunter that's pissed off is always a terrifying sight for anyone... even Master Chief has a hard time dealing with them in the book novels if I remember correctly. Hell, only the most exceptional of the exceptional can win a duel against a brood pair of Hunters. Pretty sure Atriox, maybe Tartarus, and some others like Arbiter and Splitjaw from H2 & H3 could actually win against a pair of Hunters.. but they'd be in a heap of pain from that ass beating they'd get from the pair of Hunters. LOL

They give hunter shields gravity hammer properties, it's a wrap for just about everything

Hunters are now so OP they can hold their own against the highest brute rank. They can even save their charge for their shot if they get hit! If only the brutes did less regular melees to balance this fight
