All the years of playing Halo I've never used mic bc I usually play alone & it was rare for me to hear anyone else talk. Now playing ranked made me realize how important it is so I decided to finally learn callouts lol

Very important map for knowing calls

It would be kinda nice if you could customize the names of the locations that appear in the bottom left

That sounds like the worst idea you could implement in a competitive game

Do you know why so many words are changed from what the game recommends? I’ve found it easier playing with casual friends to call out the names in the bottom left so they know what I’m talking about

Perhaps they’ve been allowed testing a little for feedback on the feel of the game and had nicknames before the official names were created. “Theres one in the bar room” would make sense to eventually get shortened to “bar” and “he’s jumping up to bar” turned to “bar jump up”. The official names of the areas probably needed a more official sounding name ordered from PR and the sample groups voted and the one that tested best was chose. Nicknames just never changed. Although, this is one hundred percent speculation and a bs answer made up on the spot.

and you missed palm tree room. and the one with the antenna is antenna not tree. it has a massive antenna coming out. the other one is palm tree.

He didn't miss anything. The map is symmetrical, meaning that you just say "blue tree or red tree" Instead of making up whole new call out for something that already has a name. I am assuming they went with "tree" because saying "blue antenna" or "red antenna" is a bit drawn out. I've watched pro scrims and they used the same callouts he mentions in this video, I did find it a bit confusing at first but it all makes sense now.
