I’ve been trying to make EASO a thing for a long tome

I just completed this after watching this video, so thank you for your helpful advice. I have some more nit-picky advice to help those still struggling with this challenge. -It is certainly not punishing to disable the blind skull. I didn’t turn it on, mainly because of the fact that you can’t see your health, therefore you don’t know how close to death you are to try to take extra precaution. It only drops 0.3x of the multiplier, so it will take _slightly_ longer, but not too much. However, feel free to activate it if you’re confident enough. -Find one area of the map and *STICK TO IT* . I decided to choose the area down the hill directly to the left of spawn, behind the shed thing with the dead marines and the extra DMR ammo. It doesn’t matter where you choose, as long as you DO NOT leave that area, for a long period of time. While you’re playing, more enemies will occupy the rest of the map and stand around doing nothing, if not firing a couple concussion bolts at you, so leaving the area you’ve chosen will get those enemies to attack you, giving you more of a chance to be cornered or stuck and fail. -Energy sword generals are *TOP* priority. If they’re left unattended they will shred through your shields, even on easy difficulty. Always try to get rid of them first. The concussion generals will always stand far back unless you charge towards them. If you’re dealing with a few generals at once and you see a sword elite in the distance, run back a little and give the sword elite a chance to catch up to dispatch him. -Grenades are actually quite helpful. Because of the Tough Luck skull, throwing grenades will force the elites to dodge and give you time to get close to them. Especially for the concussion generals, as they will run backwards blasting you with concussion bullets as you’re trying to get close to them. Throwing a grenade _near_ them, not _at_ them, will cause them to dodge giving you a window to dispatch them. The Catch skull helps here, as there’s always going to be grenades on the ground after defeating an enemy. Be careful however, if you stick an enemy, there is a chance they will sprint towards you, causing you to take lots of unnecessary damage. -There will be wraiths shooting you from a far distance outside the map. Do not worry about those at all, they won’t be any issue. From the time they fire a shot, to the time it lands you should be well out of the way without even knowing it. -If you find yourself stuck, cornered, or you see the potential to be cornered, try to run away a little. There’s a high chance there will be a sword elite or two nearby, so running back will give you time to dispatch them while the concussion elites take back their distanced position. Sword elites will always chase you, they never stand back and wait. Which is why I mentioned prioritising sword elites earlier. If you keep these in mind, this challenge should be trivial. I know that I wrote a lot, I usually unintentionally do, but hopefully this helps! Just be patient. Good luck out there Spartan!

After getting 155000 over an hour of grinding, my dumbass went to hijack the wraith just to flex, and then the out of bounds timer killed me, reseting my score. I may cry.

I went up to 180,000 for fun after 150,000 by 34 minutes. I went outside the boundaries to try and kill the wraith but the boundaries killed me. Instead of showing me the ending cutscene, it restarted the whole mission with none of my score.

Heads up for anyone doing this. 343 messed up Iron on this level. If you die with iron, you lose all points and restart the level. The end scene even plays but then forces you to restart. No achievement. I recommend the strategy without Iron. You still get a ton of points easily, but it will take more time. Just tried this yesterday October 3rd, 2022.

I know that this video is almost a year old, but I want to thank you for your advice. I finally got the achievement after an hour of intense running around.

Over the years, I have noticed that I have been subconsciously using your tips, and tricks in the games that I play. Really appreciate what you do man, thanks bro.

Just got it on my 5th attempt. They kept killing me at around 20k points for a couple main reasons. 1-Don't let them swarm you. if you see more than 3 in a cluster at a time use a few concussion rifle shots to separate them before running to beat one down. 2- Stay in one small area, seriously! If you don't care so much about how fast you get it done, this is how you do it. Because several dozen enemies or so are on the map at the same time at almost all times. And they don't move toward you unless you get too close. So staying in one spot will spawn the same 5 or 6 elites repeatedly, and only after you kill them. They can swarm you so much more easily if you wander. I noticed that the best location seems to be near the bubble shield and a little toward the wraith. It got progressively easier as I went since I was more aware of where I could walk safely and got some good beatdown practice on the way.

I hate this challenge. So long and boring. Enemies stack up next to each other so your melee keeps hitting them instead of the one you're trying to beat down

Little advice if you’re having issues with enemies clumping up too much to get her back stabs. Have a concussion rifle to break up the crowds. If the crowd gets too big the melee lunge will get confused and make harder to hit the backs of enemies meanwhile they can easily melee into submission and ruin your run. So a concussion rifle is useful to split the elites apart in case things get too crowded.

I just got the achievement! Instead of assassinating the whole time it is much easier to do that at the beginning and then use the Energy Sword to get all the kills afterward. It took me 59 minutes, I used all skulls except Mythic, Blind, and Famine because those skulls counter this strategy.

I keep getting overwhelmed by sword elites

You should tackle the halo 3 mystery on the map heretic, after 44-48 hours of gameplay the pious inquisitor will arrive at assembly

I remember hunkering down in some building and spamming the bubble shield ability while endlessly swording elites that ran into the bubble(every other elite would be a sword elite, so basically infinite ammo) and did that for god knows how long

I just got the achievement and it does work. It didn’t take me under 30 minutes though. I did it with Blind off (to keep track of health/shield) and it took me 50 minutes on my successful attempt, with another 30ish minutes of failed attempted. One thing I noticed is that the elites with the concussion rifles will not shoot at you if you are in close combat against another elite, so keep that in mind if you attempt to do this. It will take awhile

This method has since been slightly patched. This was much easier originally as tough luck was not affecting the elites properly; now it does. I highly recommend turning off the tough luck skull, otherwise all the enemies will rush in and make it difficult to melee them in the back

Hey, this question has been on my mind for a while now. But I was wondering if you know a mod that lets you play as an elite for campaign in Halo reach? I feel like I've seen it on yo channel. Just couldn't find it.

What If all players in coop stayed in one section? Does that still increase the spawning for elites?

Abuse the black eye skull, pick anywhere you want but try to stick to that area to avoid a bunch of elites spawning and overwhelming you. Go for back strikes and you’ll constantly be at full shields the whole run. If you can manage to get frequent back strikes, health won’t really be an issue.

For those getting swarmed and dying don’t be afraid to strafe and run and and go back, also if you see a sword elite make it your number 1 priority to kill it. Its the fundamentals that are crucial.

Can we get some EASO speedruns, lads?

Does it become physically impossible on normal or can you bump the difficulty to NASO and do it 3-4 times faster because of the multiplier?

I just cant deal the Elite Swords, how do you deal with them?

I managed to do this method as well, except I left the blind skull off so I could still see my health and I managed to do it in an hour. So for beginners, I recommend doing this with the blind skull off so you can still see your health. And dont actually perform the assassination, that just takes more time.

Every time I attempt this, at around 10,000 points every time, my beatdowns just stop working. I just suddenly can’t kill them any more, get surrounded and die. It’s happened like 10 times, always around the 10,000 mark. Feel like I’m going crazy

WoW man I was hoping for a good bunker spot or shoot spot.

Just got it done, took me 1 hour and 50 minutes and scored 166,200 Points. What I did was hang out around the area under where you start and try not to move far away from it because then the Spirits, Phantoms and Wraiths will start shooting at you.

No way, you uploaded this video the day I tried this achievement. It took me few hours, I died at 145k points. Also at 120k in another try. I did it without Catch and Blind skulls, because when the map become an elite graveyard there are grenades everywhere and you can die from explosion chain. Also, I kept a sword as secondary to push the elites when my shield was too low and used the bubble shield ability to regen my HP.

Just a heads up. Dont wander too far outside the map when you are done. It will count as a suicide and you loose everything.

I can't do this shit for the life of me. Spent three hours trying only to get a high score of 30k. No matter what strategy I took going in, this method just doesn't work for me. I made more on legendary in four minutes.

i like to think im good at the game, soloing legendary fairly okay and being decent at the multiplayer. this fucking title and achievement i cannot get. i just get to 20k and cant focus one elites back it locks onto another and i get overwhelmed. i need help because i cannot get it i just die and get mad after wasting like 4 lots of 10 minute runs. it starts to work but i still cant get 30k

I tried doing this and all the elites eventually just stay back and concuss me from afar, everytime i run at them they flee except the swordies. Got to 22k at 15 minutes, which seems a lot slower than your approach. How are you making them come closer? Split screen is useful. If player 1 gets a kill, then player 2 gets a kill soon after, it will count as a double kill (Double kills gives 20% more points for kill 2) Multi kills do not chain like this with an online co op partner.
