Dont know if you knew this but at the start of a round the target locator gets its ammo refilled if its still in your inventory, which is a nice bonus

My guy using the grenade launcher wrong, bounce it towards the enemy, don’t directly aim it at them… grenade launcher S-tier for any situation even good against Hunters, combined with the evade armor ability you’re nearly immortal

I always loved semi-auto weapons in these games, though I do have to admit that the DMR might be a little *too* good. Hard to justify picking anything else for my loadout, lol.

Whenever I get the chance, I rock the DMR/Grenade Launcher combo. Sucks you basically have to lose a life to rock the combo or have a friend drop it, but it's worth it. Not only do you have infinite ammo, but you have the ability to pop shields with the EMP and finish off with the DMR real quick with no plasma charge up. And when needed, the grenade launcher has the explosive damage with it being a grenade launcher obviously. Grenade launcher should be higher imo.

I feel transported to simpler times. Nice list. Full agreements, though you missed the Plasma Grenade Launcher, which is above the rocket launcher for me and always a must have. Im glad Im not crazy that the DMR is just That Good. I realized that after just a few hours of MMC Anniversary firefight.

The needler with a bottomless clip in insane

You completely messed up with the grenade launcher (even when the footage used shows you were playing on the BEST map for it). You tried using it as a concussion rifle, going for direct hits on enemies. This is the worst way to use it as enemies can easily dodge the small projectile, not to mention most of your shots will miss anyway. To use the GL, you need to aim in front of the enemy and bounce the grenade into/next to them. Grenades will always explode 0.5 seconds after hitting the ground (or after a full 10 seconds in the air). This small split-second window is too small for the majority enemies to dodge away from, as they still get caught in the edge of the blast. Combine this with how enemies spawn in and cluster together, and you can easily get +6 kills with a single grenade. You also try to use the EMP function to kill enemies, which will never work. The EMP barely does half the damage of a regular explosion, requiring roughly 2-3 EMP explosions to kill a single grunt from the explosion alone. At that point you'd be doing more damage if you just hit them directly with the grenade for the impact damage (in fact, that's probably the majority of your GL damage in the video). Outside of disabling wraiths, there's little point to using the EMP function. You're wondering why they're shrugging off hits when you're dealing half the damage you regularly would. It also kills phantom turrets in three hits, which can alleviate pressure on more open maps where the turrets make it harder to get around. It doesn't even need to be direct hits, the splash damage is enough. The explosions also strip the back plates off of hunters, allowing your team to get easy long range kills.

I prefer the needle rifle over DMR in firefight for the most part. On waves with brutes, causing the cohesion of enemy grunt squads to collapse is very fast and easy. Also the mechanic of enemies diving after getting shot at by the needle rifle has more benefits than downsides in my opinion. Teammate in a tight spot with an enemy squad lighting them up? Send a few shots in that direction and they all stop shooting to dive. Particularly with shield jackals, the dive is useful as the group conveniently expose their heads for easy pickings. Your point about the ammo is valid, as times where I don't get time to go scavenging for ammo or more than one person decides to pick up and use the needle rifle, I end up running out and switch back to the DMR.

I feel like the Needler should be a between D and C because it makes a decent last-ditch weapon if you're being charged. It's fast rate of fire means you can unload the clip (which has like 22 needles) in an enemy in seconds. Also, if they use armor lock or get out of the way, it just leaves you with more time to get to a safer distance to use something like a DMR.

When I was playing though Halo CE on harder difficulties the plasma pistol was a godsend.

The Needle Rifle is amazing against Brutes. Sure, they dive out of the way sometimes, but if you can keep them at a distance, you can easily wait out their Armor Lock and whatnot. You don't even need to headshot them.

The Grenade Launcher paired with a pistol or DMR is an underrated combo. Use the grenade launcher to rip through shields and disable vehicles, while the pistol/DMR can instantly drop your unshielded foes.

I feel the plasma repeater should be placed at the bottom as I feel its completely useless only time you'll ever catch me using this weapon is if I'm out of ammo, no where near a weapons locker AND almost dead other wise the grounds a nice spot for it

I disagree on the needle rifle position, it's the destroyer of brutes and brute chieftains if combined with a plasma weapon or fuel rod cannon. Also good for the white grunts and this weapon has higher hip fire magnetism. It's quite easy to scavenge for really. It's big downsides of course is the fact that you do have to scavenge slightly worse scope and jackal majors become annoying

I always try to get the fuelrod canon as secondary weapon to take easy on high ranked enemies but I use the DMR as primary weapon because it has good range and damage it's a pretty good sniping weapon and you got sprint and infinite ammo

Some weapon combos are the dmr + plasma pistol. I recommend this weapon combos in fire fight or in custom matchmaking.

call me a weirdo, but i personally love the shotgun, and would rank it high up on the list, you can dispense of high ranking enemies in a max of 3-4 shots, and the shotgun is bundled with the armor lock, which has saved me from plasma grenades and odd one hit deaths that you can see coming plenty of times. being paired with the magnum in its class also helps its case, as its a great weapon for those mid range engangements, or headshoting grunts, then when a stronger enemy rushes you down, you switch to your shotgun or lob a grenade to keep them at bay. overall a great class imo

I've noticed a few other comments, but the grenade launcher. I know its hard to use at first, but if you put in the hours of sucking, that thing (along with its infinite ammo) becomes damn near unstoppable. Strips shields, EMPs vehicles, has AOE like a UNSC frag grenade. You have to learn to master the arching angles and the weird bounce, but once you do, you can basically land shots on a dime. I have learned to blast grunts and jackals as they drop in the early waves, strip the shields off elites and brutes as they land in later waves, then switch to the magnum for headshots. With (arguably too much) practice, you can lob shots over walls into predictable paths and hit targets or shoot down banshees with the EMP setting. I consistently rack up 100+ kills with it as my primary. Granted I secondary one of the A- or S-tier weapons to get out of pinches (there always seem to be DMRs on the ground). With the friends I usually play with, it gets worse. I force groups of enemies to disperse and strip shields for easy head shots for them, EMP wraiths for them to steal, or keep hunters busy with grenade shots while they clean up weaker enemies.

I love it others are talking about the grenade launcher and I agree with them, it's an OP weapon if used right. Many uses for a gun and it's a jack of all trades, yet master of none.

Here's what I have to saw about the Focus rifle. To me, its a support weapon to deal with shielded enemies from afar while team members deal with them otherwise. If you are alone, it can still keep you safe when dealing with shielded enemies, so I will sometimes pair it with the DMR (because what else?). I really see it for long distance shield disabling rather than a weapon to actually get a kill with. Its instant travel laser means that aiming isn't too much of a nuisance. That's how I use it, which weapon usage tends to differ from person to person.

I'm surprised the assault rifle made it so far up the list, it takes most if not the whole clip to take down a basic elite.

My favorite combo of weapons was the sniper and DMR with the bubble shield which some aren't aware while standing inside the bubble shield it'll heal you and your teams missing health

I’d say d tier for Spartan laser. I just recently beat the legendary campaign and in a very desperate situation with no other options, I discovered it cannot break higher level elite shields

"Default difficulty" in Firefight, which is itself a not easy task mode, is relative. For me Normal is the standard difficulty. But difference being i completed an entire Firefight set myself (meant to be with allies) and also challenging myself not to die a single time. Was tough but did it.

I disagree when it come to your placement of the Grenade Launcher. It’s very helpful when dealing with large groups of enemies and hunters. And if you pair it with a DMR you become unstoppable. But I might just be biased to it.

I gotta say alot of this list is wrong if you look at it from the perspective of doing a tier list from 360 reach NOT MCC which butchered a ton of these guns take it from someone who was almost inheritor (legit rank) (I never boosted because you don't learn anything) I played multiplayer almost exclusively and on occasion firefight the point is in the hands of a OG they could dominate pvp and pve alike you just had to know how In fact there are actually other uses for some of these weapons (the guy didn't even mention) that are handy even for heroic and legendary difficultys

Okay, you have got the Rocket Launcher and Spartan Laser completely mixed up. First of all, the Rocket Launcher's homing ability only works on Banshees, and because of Tough Luck they will dodge it 99% of the time on Heroic. The Spartan Laser is the only reliable weapon for destroying Banshees and most other vehicles on Heroic. It can also one-shot Hunters, whereas the Rocket Launcher can take up to 3 hits to kill a single Hunter. The Rocket Launcher can be good for taking out large groups of enemies clustered together during a Phantom drop but it is absolutely useless against vehicles on Heroic Firefight.

The needler works great for killing grunts but yes, the needler is total garbage
