Words can not describe this ending. Just fighting off hordes of elites as the last human on reach, knowing there is no hope of survival. Just so epic and noble, just like his name.

Didn't we rebuild after the fall of Reach decades later according to lore? So I mean people did stay there. I do find it odd that as resourceful was Noble 6 and the rest of the team was during the campaign he didn't just figure out a way off of Reach on his own and just rejoin the UNSC, you know like steal a banshee or something. I mean if they compared 6 to Master Chief, wasn't his MO finding unconventional ways to get things done or getting from point A to point B.

@@rhey81 In the mission pillar of autumn, after emile's death when he rejected the last flight off reach in a Pelican, it's obvious that he didn't want to get off the planet. He knew he was gonna die after that moment.

There's this just strange feeling about final battles where death is a inevitable end. It just gives me the ominous feeling where no matter our best attempt, we inevitably will face death. Halo Reach's final mission is the prime example of that: a hopeless, desperate battle that's ultimately just the last stand of singular to few soldiers. The only other time I get such a feeling is the final boss of darkest dungeon. They did extremely well with this ending, there's few words that can describe it in my mind.

Still one of my favorite things if you play in coop. No one respawns. You die, you out and when the final man goes down, the cutscene plays with them as the final man to go down.

I remember when I was little, I played this mission and I didn’t know that I was supposed to die to end the game. So when I died, I thought I got the “bad ending” with the cutscene so I just rejoined and then camped in a spot for like half an hour trying to get the “good ending” 😂

Fun fact it was a week after Pillar of Autumn that Noble Six fought Lone Wolf and it’s written in lore that he fought for 9 days straight

I think you mixed up Long Night of Solace with this. Between Long Night of Solace and New Alexandria, it takes 6 nine days to get to New Alexandria. I thought in the lore Noble 6 fought for hours, not days.

Lone Wolf takes place on August 30th, 2552 at 2000 hrs whereas the Pillar of Autumn takes place on the same day at 1600-1700 hrs. That means 6 lasted for a few hours max. So that’s some straight up bullshit

Missed having my cousins playing together, having a sleepover and the rest. Life was good with family sticking together. But now, there is no another time. Me too. It reminds me how much life taught me growing up. Bungie's Halo games were the only thing kept me going. When I first saw this cutscene. Like starting a new decade to start fresh for a new life. It reminds me how much I missed my 2000s years growing up in elementary and middle school. Missed watching cartoons, movies and playing games with my brothers and cousins. But it didn't last long when 09 was coming to an end for major changes. First example like Cartoon network. I knew they weren't going to show cartoon shows anymore. Just some boring live TV shows. Like Bobb'e says, Dude what will happen and Destroy build destroy. I tried to get back into cartoons but nothing. It was time for me to say my goodbyes to any 2000s cartoons. Before I'm done writing this. I just wanted to say 2 things.1. Happy new years and I hope there'll be another time! 2. And it's what Minion said from twisted metal Black. Will we return to our old world.

I always loved the added detail of the Spartan corpses scattered around this level. Some people think they're actual Spartans from the other Teams (Gauntlet, Red, and Echo) mentioned earlier in the game, and some people think they're other versions of Noble Six, but I've always been partial to the idea that they're hallucinations/ghosts of fallen S-IIIs that Six knew, like what Kurt saw in his last stand on Onyx.

Halo 2 infection with friends and the clan, good times. That and co-op on halo ce and halo 2 brings back so many good memories. Times change but I'm happy i got to experience it, i doubt i will forget those moments. I value times like that a ton. Before that i played system link on the ps 1 with my father, coop on doom. That's also something that has been stuck in my head for well over two decades. There was also timesplitters, a series that deserve to be revived with passion, heart and soul put into it.

Man what a tragic, yet legendary ending. I am so tha kful I grew up playing the Bungie Halo Games, as they truly were innovative and creative with ideas, and of course their final Masterpiece Halo: Reach, a game where dread always hits hard, no matter what you try differently, it all ends in the same way, you die going down giving a tough fight, a fight the Covenant and UNSC will forever remember.

There's just something so badass about watching the visor on your helmet begin to shatter as you fight to the death with an alien race. I like the detail too that parts of the HUD go away when it gets damaged too. It really is like you’re falling apart. As far as other great last stand endings go, Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII has a pretty legendary one. It also has a few neat UI things it does as you’re dying, though nothing like the helmet breaking since Zack doesn’t wear a helmet.

In my play through, I destroyed 2 tanks, killed over 150 elites, about 25 field marshals and countless grunts. No matter how many anyone kills, Noble 6 only took out an entire army and then some, and the Covenant still didn't learn their lesson.

Like many other chapter names, it's a quote from another piece of media, namely Star Wars. In the original context, it's Han Solo telling his friends that there'll be another time to get back at the Empire, that they'll make it. But for all he knows, those could be his last words to them.

I think it’s interesting knowing that even after the Pillar of Autumn left, the Covanent still hunted Noble 6, like you’d think the would’ve just kept glassing the planet but instead it seemed they gave him an honorable death

Noble 3 Jun is still alive but he's retired from spartan work and is now a spartan recruiter. He may go to Reach eventually but that is a long time away.

The only way they could possibly make a Halo Reach 2 would be a prequel, you playing as Tom (I believe is his name). If they made a sequel, it'd be a Farming Simulator and a Architecture lesson. Only thing that would happen is rebuilding Reach. Although, they could make Halo Reach 2, where you play as Tom, leading up to his death.

The very last Halo campaign mission I ever did in my Live gaming days. I legit wanted everything at 4 and after to be a surprise to me sometime later if I ever came back to it. This one game with one team was much better than I'd anticipated. There's just so much to grasp with Halo.

The music in the halo series is just fucking haunting sometimes... We all know how good the games are, but the music just takes it to a whole new level.
