When you live all the way across the country from the East Coast, these nuances of geography are not in your "need-to-know" bucket. I feel such affection for Hal and the Sparklers, I’m so happy the majority of you don’t know what “gulping water “ means( I f-ing hate that Hannity was right) I grew up in Appalachia. We’d eat a supper around 5-6. No one ever got a full serving of anything and lunch was a luxury . It’s hard to sleep on a growling stomach. If you fill your stomach with water quickly, it staves off hunger long enough to fall asleep.

Uh huh. I guarantee you that 60 percent of people have never heard that term. And even more certain that not even a tenth of Americans are going through that. The skipped meals part is a double edged sword. It probably means they weren't able to go to the local diner because they have yet to open for 24 hours since covid.

THANK YOU for explaining Easter and it's Pagan roots. Though I always thought spring represented new life, renewal after the long winter (and another hijacked Pagan holiday, Yule). There's also all the new babies after the long winter where there's nothing to do but screw. If I remember right, Easter is calculated by the first Sunday after the first full moon after the vernal Equinox (the 21st of March). Hope I got that right.

Stephanie Miller!! That’s how I found Hal, he did a bit on her show. Jesse Dollemore, Mary Trump media , the Good Liars , Al Frankenstein and two VERY young men Adam Mockler and Luke Beasley. May I add these to your list? I remember the Air America days when the radio waves were flush extremely right wing Limbaugh wannabes. Progressive radio was not profitable and Air America went under even with talent like a young Rachel Maddow.
