All semi-automatic guns, with a magazine capacity over 5 rounds, should be banned. Period. There is zero practical reason to permit people to arm themselves for combat. A five round magazine was sufficient for hunters for decades, anything above that should be classified as an assault weapon. If you want to play with those for a hobby, join the military where you'll be properly vetted, trained and supervised.

A sawed off shotgun is illegal due to being more concealable, not spread. A coach gun, a double barreled shotgun with 20 in barrels are legal, and used in cowboy action shooting. Within 20 ft, the spread would probably be only about an 8 inch circle.

Ive seen that American States are looking at how to safeguard their schools. Hears a clue: Look at other Western countries. What's the major difference? The answer is the prolific availability of all types of firearms. Yes, they still do happen but far less frequently. So Americans are willing to spend on protecting their children before doing something about the root cause.

The primary objection to sawed off shotguns is less the widening of the shot pattern as it is the increased ease of concealment. Sawing off a rifle barrel is similarly banned in many places. Shotguns are much more tolerated in some jurisdictions as they are seen as being less dangerous with less penetration and more of a tendency to wound than kill. So modifying them to make them usable in close range gunfights obviates that handicap... you would create a very powerful pistol, in essence.

Hal, The reason the Taj Majal casino "failed" was not because the business model failed. It's because it was found that the casino was laundering Eastern European crooks' money. As described to me by a lawyer involved in investigating the Taj Majal: The Eastern Europeans would go into the casino; head immediately to the Cashier's window. Exchange their dirty money for Taj Majal casino chips. They would then walk to the other side of the casino, to a different Cashier window and cash in their chips for clean money. Thus the money laundering. trumb is so enmeshed in Russian and other Eastern European oligarchs and their corrupt like he reeks of not only his stinky diapers but of unadulterated sociopathic machinations. There are not enough DOJ prosecutors to prosecute all of his crimes... period.
