Such a fulfilling episode, so happy to see Supergramps getting close to “completion”, every time I saw those gaps in the center console on previous episodes I got irritated lol, can’t wait to see the stereo get put in. The new Haltech install turned out great! I can’t wait for the stereo and the Mira’s headliner lol!

Great install and nice looking piece of kit. I don't usually do the "I would have done" thing. But one thing did occurred to me. Because the hazard/four-way flasher button is being relocated, a short extender cable could be run from the dash unit's USB connection. Mounting it in what was left of the flasher button hole, and then filling the gap as was done in the video. To cover the USB port when not in use, you can get a small rubber cover, or just leave it bare. Then you have access to the dash's USB connection, without having to get into the centre console again. Useful for quick updates/upgrades.

Wiring tip- if you use a torch you can add solder to your pins to help the connection from wire to pin and also help longevity.

I seem to say this on nearly every video, but I really like how down-to-earth and knowledge Marty is- from agreeing that they'll cut up his dash without hesitation (it's a project car, afterall), to throwing terms around like “data acquisition” without batting an eye. Moog, you're great, but sauces and spices aren't tasty without quality meat & potatoes to go on.

To answer the question (lol) the heater control trim is loose because it’s part of an aftermarket stereo trim kit. From factory, stereo and auto climate control are one single big part on these cars and cannot be separated unless you buy an aftermarket kit with the heater module by itself

An idea you may consider - you could cut a slot in the dash in front of the led bar, and add a strip of clear or frosted acrylic that sits flush with the surface. Would allow you to see the leds when lit, but would be dark and stealthy when off. Also, you should see about making 'chopped' fingers wire cutters, scissors or tin snips! Keep the project modification purity cranked to 11 - this isnt Mighty Car FactoryStandard!
