I did the exact same thing! Ran it into the space under the dinette seat since I normally operate at the table. I reached out to SmartPlug to see if they had one with just a blank plate, but was told no. So I had to opt for fitting my own, as you did.

I'm an OT but I remember those being called bulkhead connectors. May have been easier to use a piece of sheet aluminum instead of dealing with plastic. Nice clean job with a good look.

I did the exact same thing except I used the outdoor shower hatch and put the barrel connector in there. Works great.

Another option is to create a passthrough using PVC fittings. On my pelican cases, I use electrical PVC fittings because the threads aren't tapered like plumbing PVC and they will take those metal locking rings used to secure the fittings into an electrical panel. Just use some silicone before tightening completely to create a seal. A PVC cap completes the deal.

Bah - Centering is highly overrated! Looks like it will work just fine. Excellent idea repurposing that plastic piece.
