Lately, we've been having the travel bug, and since going out of the country is nearly impossible these days we've been exploring and rediscovering local destinations more and more. In this video, I share the dining experience at Hama Hama Oysters, a highly popular seafood restaurant in the city of Lilliwaup on Washington's Olympic Peninsula.
Hama Hama Oysters is a fifth generation family-run shellfish farm located two hours from Seattle. Since they are very busy at this restaurant, it is recommended that you make a reservation to ensure seating at this restaurant. A $100 reservation includes two dozen oysters (raw and grilled).
Since we like to eat oysters with sauce, we also brought our own sauce that we purchased. K & P Lao "jeow som" (translated to sour sauce) was a hit with the four of us!
Hope you enjoy the video - just a taste of what lunch at a great restaurant on the Olympic Peninsula is like. This is a non-sponsored video (for both restaurant and sauce), all opinions expresed are my own.

I love oysters 💕. Raw, fried, steamed, grilled. So delicious when it is fresh. Gross when it is not. Thank you for you videos. My son just moved to Seattle last year. With Covid, it’s been kind of isolating. Your videos gives all of us an idea of where to go and what to do up there. Thanks 💕

Excellent video, bring's backs memories from the '70s and '80s of loading up on oyster from the hood channel area and then over Vashon Island for some Flounder fishing ate till we were stuffed.

Long time ago I worked at a coastal hotel, one of my daily tasks was to pull in a creel and take a couple of buckets/pails of oysters and sea water up to the hotel. Carried the oysters in the sea water with some fresh seaweed. If any oysters didn't sell I brought them back to the creel. The full oyster buckets were kept chilled in one of the large walk in fridges while at the hotel so as not to stress the oysters. Only tried oysters once as told to try them, no way of backing out. Had neck grabbed to "encourage" me to swallow which probably wasn't ideal but was well meaning, sort of.

Sounds like a lot of work. I remember when I couldn't eat oysters or didn't like them. I still have a hard time eating raw oysters without a beer. So slimy. 😂🍻

I remember reading (maybe Mark Twain?) that the bravest man that ever lived was the one who first opened an oyster and thought "This looks edible..." I have always agreed. But I am landlocked in Indiana, so never had any really fresh. Given the chance here, I'd try it.

If you get a shellfish license, you can harvest your own limit not far from there (provided everything is in season, etc).
