Lost in music doesn't begin to describe it. Kanami is a pure rock machine. They say she is not technically perfect! Oh really. She plays with her soul and is the most prolific riff machine in the business. When she and Band Maid play they bring supreme happiness to all. Bless them for the treasures they are.
@VladimirChupin2 жыл бұрын
I also don't understand when some guitarists say that Kanami is not technically perfect. I think it's because her style is unusual. She's really not reminding us of anyone else, as Ryan Mear put it. So, it may seem to some musicians that she's playing "incorrectly," and they interpret it as a deficiency. In reality, Kanami is just a phenomenon of different proportions. She's not "a guitarist" in a usual sense of the word. She could better be described as a composer and a mastermind behind the band. She's not just doing her thing of playing the guitar, she puts every other member in place, and she makes a lot of room for them to insert their own pieces of the whole tapestry which is a BAND-MAID song. Despite being the mastermind of it all, she takes her 20% of the whole and does it perfectly. But then some professional guitarists frown and say, "Kanami is not perfect." Because if they would be in her place, they would try to steal the show completely, fighting with the other band members for greater exposure...

@@markhunter8554 Lack of understanding, I would rather say. The reason why there are so few good bands, is that many people who are musicians by profession, don't really understand what is music. It's a highly technical field of human endeavours, no doubt. That's why it's so easy to be absorbed with technicalities. "Oh, he played it this way, and then this way, he's a great musician!" While in reality, it was just an amazing show of skills and no music. On the other hand, there are many people who are very musically-minded, but who are not good at any instrument. Miku is like that. Her mind works very well when it comes to composition and harmonies, but it took her years before she mastered the guitar. Now she gradually turns into a very interesting guitar player with her own style, just listen to "hatofull" album. In BAND-MAID, she was always doing those dual vocal things, which are quite unique. They were unique in MAID in JAPAN times, and they are unique in Unseen World, albeit different. But as far as the rest of BAND-MAID is concerned, they are perfect musicians in every sense of the word, i.e they are both musically minded and technically proficient. It was funny how Saiki commented in her interview for the Unseen World Score Book: "Kanami's fingers now move so fast it looks disgusting." 😂
@markhunter85542 жыл бұрын
@@VladimirChupin As far as what you said about Miku, it reminded me of something George Martin wrote in his memoir. In essence he wrote that there are incredible musicians who are not songwriters and some songwriters who don't even play an instrument (if memory serves he mentioned Lionel Bart as an example).

2 things stick out about these Hamburg videos. 1. Kanami suffered the worst on stage out of the 5 of them. It looks like her stage makeup sweated off as she looks quite natural in the face, but she STILL soldiered on and delivered what the fans wanted to hear. Much respect for that. 2. Saiki is much more relaxed this tour and seems to be enjoying the stage more than before. It is refreshing to see her break from 'character' and smile & joke with band members and fans alike. It's endearing.
@joki53465 жыл бұрын
Maybe Saiki felt more familiar, because she recognized some fans, who were already in Paris and Bochum, doing Meet and Greet and clapping, jumping and shouting in the front rows. In Kanami´s case I have the impression, she likes to go to her limits in some ways without losing her direction. If you look at people, who do sport in a professional way, they are exhausted at the end of the race or what so ever. And then they recover and the next event is calling. So it goes. I stood two meters away from Kanami and didn´t worry about her.

She knew he was there and stirred him for it! Also pointing out to another in the crowd.. At the end of the show, Miku ran along the rails and gave a hand touch to everyone who was quick enough to extend their hands towards her. I missed her by an inch 😫

Kanami was amazingly good that evening. I think the reason for that was that they have had a day of rest before Hamburg concert. Her fingers were just flying over the fretboard.
