Eliza’s orphanage is actually still in New York and still has kids there and that’s where I stayed when I was 1-5 years old. So looking back at this 3 years later and knowing Szin’s preference for certain ships, it’s nice to see she doesn’t just blindly try to assert her ship as cannon like some others.

For people who didn't understand the last part: Eliza rocked one more time in her rocking chair. She thought about everyone who had died, everyone who had left her side. As she let her eyelids droop, she saw an image of her husband, Alexander Hamilton. She woke up, a minute later, dazed. She saw her sisters, Angelica and Peggy. She looked down and saw her dearest son, Phillip. She strode out of the house. "Is this heaven?" she thought to herself. Then she saw her husband's delightful face, trudging through the pathway. She got excited and waved her hand at him. I tried \(❁´◡`❁)/

My favourite detail in this It's Quiet Uptown sequence is that Eliza and Hamilton don't kiss after Eliza takes Hamilton's hand. It's so realistic and raw. How Eliza takes Hamilton's hand, and Hamilton caresses her cheek--but, he has something to do, which then transitions into essentially walking to his death. What a gorgeous sequence. I don't often find that in many It's Quiet Uptown animatics, and that seek for comfort and love within a mutual depthness of despair and mourning (especially for such a bruised relationship like Hamilton/Eliza where it's *despite* everything that has happened--they have lost *their son*) is so beautifully portrayed in the short sequence here.

Girl you don't need to explain yourself. At the end of the day, your priorities should and need come first in the eyes of everyone who follows you.

Szin animatics were the first exposure to hamilton I ever had and even if she hasn't been making them for a while I will always remember what a wonderful impact they had on my young childhood, sitting around the basement table in the middle of summer watching them with my sisters, so thanks for making them all those years ago🙂

What chokes me up consistently isn't when they watch their friends die and their son is shot and buried. No, what I always falter at is the fact that Eliza kept going, day after day, without anyone else, and she turns over in bed about 8 minutes into this video and realizes yet again a very fundamental, heartbreaking truth: the other side is empty. It's subtle, it's mundane, and yet it is everything for a woman who just thought she got back on her feet. As the song so accurately says, "this is where it gets me".
