My teacher who was a big Hamilton fan (and actually got me into Hamilton) was retiring last year so the people in chorus sang Who Lives, Who Dies, Who Tells Your Story at graduation.

I love this lady! I don't know who she is, but her story makes me feel SO good that I am going to be a teacher! And she also has reminded me that my age has nothing to do with my ability. I came across this video and I want her as my teacher now. She seems so nice and she seems like the best teacher! She reminds me of one I used to have. But any teacher who likes Hamilton and the color purple must be amazing!

This is how you should treat your teachers. They are the real heroes and scholars.

I’m a teacher, like millions of others around the world. I don’t know any teacher that does their job for the sole purpose of receiving appreciation like this. We do it to watch the children we teach make a positive impact on those around them, their families, their friends, their schools, their churches(if they choose to attend), their governments, their countries and the world. The countless hours we spend worrying about students, staying back helping students, and colleagues. So many of my students have found me on Facebook, they are now adults, with careers and families of their own. Many teachers, including me -often have no idea the long term effect that we have on those children. Even the effects on their family members. Hopefully, it’s nearly always a positive one. More than once, I got into trouble (not school policy🙄)for bringing extra lunches to school for those children that came to school without food. Another time, I had a parent of a newborn ask me to bring their daughter (who was in my grade 5/6 grade, drive her home, bc their newborn was unwell. Again -against school policy. I understand why it’s against school policy-but sometimes people run into problems in every day life that policies made decades before don’t take into account. Anyways, all that aside- this gorgeous teacher Mrs Fleisher has clearly put her heart and soul into working with the students/parents/colleagues and wider community. She deserves every accolade she received, and then some. Happy Retirement Mrs Fleisher. Enjoy Hamilton. It was playing in Sydney, Australia recently -and by all accounts, it was absolutely fantastic. You’ll love every second. Onward and Upward. Merry Christmas to the world.

i wish i had a teacher like her. my teachers are completely sick of school already and they don’t care about us. i’ve has wonderful teachers before but i can only hope that i have a teacher like her, someone that truly cares about the world and the wellbeing of students

Just a few days ago Jan Leisher passed away from cancer. She was an amazing teacher and always made my middle school days at school worthwhile. We will miss you Mrs. Leisher.
