Hank, keep the transfer tank that way you have extra diesel with you or fill fuel filters when you're on sites working on equipments or trucks.

Love the new truck. You should keep the fuel tank especially if you do buy a dozer you can refuel all your equipment in the field. Also, you would have access to fuel for your will-it-start videos.

I would keep the fuel tank especially if you’re adding equipment. That appears to be a very nice setup and you’ll find you’re always in the wrong truck when you need to fuel something if you remove it.

If your thinking of getting more equipment down the road, especially a track hoe, you might want to hang on to the external fuel tank, those things are handy. Nice truck!!

That is a very nice truck! I appreciate your videos and love the fact that I don't have to get diesel fuel all over myself. I had enough of that in the Navy a long time ago. But the more I learn about diesel engines the more I want to get one and fix it up. Maybe I'll do that after I recover from second spine surgery. I have to get some motivation going and your videos and several other KZfaqrs I watch are inspiring me to get moving again. Stay safe and take care. God bless you and your family.

Hank, it will start easier if you cycle the key on, off at least 4 to 6 times to let the pump purge the system.

Man, I can't believe you are getting rid of the fuel tank. That's what I had to add when I got my new service truck. As many of the will it starts that you do, I thought that would be the best thing to have.

Hank, don't think you can go wrong with a RAM. On my third one. Have 2018 now, bought it as my last truck. It has all the bells and whistles. But bought to pull RV, not for work and the wife loves to travel in it. Be good and safe, take care, the best to you and yours.

Good looking truck Hank! I had 3 Ram Cummins trucks in the last 10 years, All great! A word of advice to save a potential catastrophic headache… GREASE THE FRONT DRIVESHAFT!! That shaft is always spinning when the truck is rolling regardless of whether or not you are engaged in 4WD. The elaborate joint at the transfer case end of the driveshaft is greasable and must be lubed with the SPECIFIED grease. You will need a needle adapter on the gun and its a pain to get at so its likely the previous owner neglected servicing it. My brother had a front driveshaft come apart at 70 mph on his 5500 Ram at 150000 miles. It broke the transmission, crossmember and tore up the floor on his truck. Thankfully his right leg/foot escaped injury… Please get out in front of this and prevent a serious situation. God Bless!

Beautiful truck ! Cummins Diesel Engines are truly the best in my opinion. The in-line 6 cylinder is what the big rigs use because they work the best and give excellent reliability in the long run. Don’t think you mentioned it also takes some DEF fluid for the emissions. Great decision on the diesel RAM Hank ! Have a Blessed Day 🇺🇸🙏TCB⚡️

Nice rig Hank! I do a lot of stop start driving at low speed. I use a seatbelt extender that makes the computer think the belt is plugged in. I should see if your tip works on my Euro vans!

Over and under square are the terms for relation of bore to stroke. There are variations like the Atkins cycle, which I have in my awesome ford. Over square (more bore then stroke) will hit higher RPM and often used for HP, undersquare more stroke than bore is lower RPM and often used for torque. I love my Harley undersquare motors, lumpy and torquey.

I think the term you are looking for regarding stroke vs bore is "undersquare" which means engines rev lower but make their power lower than an "oversquare" engine.

First off. Congratulations on the new truck. It is super nice. I am jealous. Before you put a programmer on it you should know it has an Aesin transmission in it. One of the best on market but they do not play well with programmers. The computer in transmission won't sinc with it. It will destroy it in just a little bit. That transmission cost 8 grand alone without labor. Friend of mine went through 3 before transmission shop told him the programmers were eating his transmissions. It is your truck. Do what you want. I just thought I would give you the information I have so you are atleast aware. Beautiful truck! Happy for you. Love the show by the way

I suggest that you do not talk anymore about the emissions equipment on the truck and the tuner. The EPA has been cracking down on companies that supply tunes and owners that run them. Your truck has to be tuned already or it wouldn't run and would have a bunch of check engine codes.

Nice truck man! I have a 2016 2500. Just an fyi. When changing the fuel filter be sure the o ring dont roll or you leak fuel. Theres also a water/fuel separator filter on the frame. I change mine every time i change the fuel filter. And don’t let it set and idle alot or you”ll be having emissions issues.

honeslty id keep the tank, specailly if you will be haulin equipment with it your gonna need the extra fuel so ya can fuel em in the field instead of runnin back an forth, i picked up a 100 gal transfer tank myself for a truck im buildin an been using it on a trailer for now and i loveeeee it

When you change fuel filters In a diesel cycle the fuel pump a few times and it won’t start so hard. Sick truck btw, that things awesome.

Love the truck I have a 2016 ram 3500 one thing I suggest is do the grid heater bold delete look up banks and it will explain it better but if the grid heater bolt melts it will drop in the #6 piston and it's a bad day stay safe and God bless I'm heading to gulf shores tomm 😊

You'll want to get the transmission temperature thermostat removed Hank. It will go out on you and try to overheat the trans. It happened to mine and almost cooked the trans. My trans temp runs from 130 to 150 normal driving now instead or staying at 168-170. Nice truck!

Hank dont get rid of the auxillary tank as will come in useful when stuck in the middle of nowhere and your low fuel light comes on at least u have the aux tank to get u home or at least to the nearest petrol station.

Hank if you are going to get a tuber check out BANKS ive ran a bunch of diffrent tuners on all of the cummins ive had and none compete with banks. I currently have a 19 3500 drw i tow between 20k and 30k of equipment 4 or 5 days a week for work and i live in the hills so i have a lot of steep grades everywhere i tow. But i have a banks tuner and 1 of the data monster gauges with a couple extra sensors from banks and there air intake and all the hot and cold charge tubes his intercooler and exhaust. Also you defiantly should get u a FASS set up for it. After i did all this it woke my truck up like you wouldnt belive im not sure what it makes now but it was a significant increase and verry quick install for everything. Im looking in to getting a twin turbo kit that will keep an exhaust brake then ima get it put on a dyno. I may do it befor and after

you gotta cycle your key and leave it just on for a bit before cranking and that will fill the fuel filter canister. but if you can you should pre fill that fuel canister when you put it back on all this will prevent you having to crank on it so much after changing the fuel filters

The diesels they have now use the DEF, and from what I've heard it adds more to operating costs. Good thing to have one that doesn't use it. IMO, I'd try to hang on to Black Betty because they don't make stick shifts anymore. Especially with this battery powered (and that's what it is, a battery, let's face it) vehicles coming out they just can't match gas or diesel for power and towing. I've been telling everybody, hang on to it, maintain it for as long as you can. Transportation is going to take a big hit. Anyway......very nice truck Hank! 👍👍 Thanks for sharing. By the way, if you need a name for it, how about RAM JAM. 😎 (That's the name of the band that recorded Black Betty for those who don't know)

You got to remember when pricing used vehicles with all the problems the ford has, the labor to repair all those things wrong with it. U gotta think at 100 an hr labor and finding parts etc. I always stay away from anything thats already been deleted because u dont know how hard its been ridden. Tuners when over fueled will burn up engines quick with stock bottom ends. Those heads are prone to cracking between the valves where the injectors are. Just cause they're iron doesnt mean the design is better. Like the other guy said, mind the trans that thermostat causes lotsa problems. Looks like it has some salvage parts under the hood too. good luck
