I am a Flamengo fan. The way I see is very simple. The chances of Paqueta to be found guilty are extremely high. What we don't know is whether he would be banned from the premier league, from european tournaments or from soccer altogether (banned meaning > 5 years suspension). So the hammers will be in a situation that they will have a very expensive player that will not be able to play. My way of thinking is that this is what Flamengo is betting. That an arrangement could be made that he could still be able to play in Brazil. If this can be done, Flamengo would be the only club with the money to buy him (Flamengo just payed 15 million euros cash for DelaCruz so a 20 million offer would be feasible). Unfortunately, for West Ham, they would be in a position that they would either accept what Flamengo would pay or keep a player that cannot play. Another possibility is if he is banned from premier league but not from other European leagues, then the hammers may be able to get a better deal , since teams like Athletico of Madrid, PSG, Bayern Munchen etc. may be able to present higher offers. Up the Irons!

I reckon if Paqueta got himself a good money speaks all languages lawyer from Man Citeh, he'd not only delay the court trial for 3 years, he'd also turn his alleged betting scandal threat of a lifetime ban into a £100 speeding fine with 3 points on his licence. 🙂👍⚒

I would have been relatively happy with Kilman at 40mil, if we hadn’t bid Todibo and seemed in with a chance of getting him at a similar price. I think pedigree counts for something and although I expect Kilman to be a leader and help the team, Todibo is a player like Kudus where within a season I could see him being a 65-80 million type player if he can prove it in the prem.

The only potential benefit I can see is if he is only banned in England for a year, then he maintains match fitness by playing elsewhere. I don't see us pursuing this. Even if he's found guilty there'll likely be an appeal and he'll be able to play until that's heard and decided

What happens to the FA charge if we sell him now? Can they trial him in his absence or do they lose all jurisdiction and it would be down to the Brazilian FA ? They have already cleared him.
