There are some more problems with Hamon, YBA nerfed Hamon's zoom punch and made its range worse for no reason and one more thing you missed out on about scarlet overdrive is that it has a MUCH, much, MUCH smaller hitbox than jawbreaker and much harder to hit as well.

Zoom punch is an incredibly useful stun for true combos that make Magician's Red + hamon better than with boxing but scarlet overdrive just sucks, if they just made scarlet overdrive identical to jaw breaker it would already be as good as boxing

Hamon needs these changes to be good. A) The bar should only go down when moves are used, the bar should stay up. This negates the constant charge annoying thing and allows you to actually play the game instead of holding the G key constantly. B) While the hamon bar is active, regen is signifcantly increased. This is just a thing to help it be on par with boxing, and hamon has prominent healing factors in the anime. Even though hamon has the best damage reduction ingame, it is still extremely easy to kill them. if they had a regen factor that was like vampires, but 75% of vampires speed that would make hamon better. C) Swap the startups of Scarlet overdrive and Jaw Breaker. Jaw Breaker does DOUBLE the damage of Scarlet Overdrive and theyre both the same move. If Scarlet Overdive was much faster, the low damage for 17.5 comapred to Jaw breaker's max damage of 34 would be reasonable. Jaw Breaker is too fast to cancel, and sometimes cannot be cancelled due to third party effects like Ping and Frames. Edit: Nice feedback, But Boxing has extra HP and 5% less damage reduction. If boxing receives no nerfs, and these hamon changes are applied, they will balance out Boixnf has passive and extra HP, Hamon will have semi - passive + slightly + extra regen. Just to specify, my changes have hamons bar be constant. So if you use no moves at all, your bar will stay indefinitely charged, even if you use stand moves. Most people think that the defense plus regen will be the biggest problem, pressure will fix it. Having regen is worse than extra HP, because that regen can be easily taken away C is a constant and cannot be argued with, SO does not do more than 17 damage simply because people know how to get rid of flames. I would say make the flames have a set duration, but we all know what happens when you can’t put out flames (death). Which is why SO can have its low damage output but be incredibly useful for breaking blocks. like jaw breaker is now but less damage, so you don’t lose too much from taking the hit. Jaw breaker should be a punish move, to put away stands after getting a block break or to use after using eye gouge. It should not be comfortable off m1s and able to be used whenever. Jaw breaker can do 34 damage max, (25.5 against boxing) which in both cases is still a huge chunk of HP from one fast startup move. It can do 40.1 with vamp, and 51 with rage mode vamp. Basically meaning if your opponent has TWAU, TW, SP boxing vamp and you have ANY spec, you’re pretty much dead

Omg as a hamon main for over a year have been waiting for this vid and I insta clicked it as soon as I saw it in my recommendations

Idea for charge rework: A. Run while charging is enabled. B. You can charge during attacks, but it makes them weaker (so you can charge and combo but you have to charge smart or else it’s going to disable your damage and maybe even your combo moves like zoom punch)

Imagine if they made the barrage able to be used during a stand barrage

8:53 I swear that happens every time, especially when the server ping isn't very consistent and u constantly get small spikes of like +50 ping, whenever I use a move and press ctrl to sprint, it just doesn't work, I gotta press it 2-4 times for it to work and it just feels so bad in terms of how playing the game feels

I used to use hamon with the world and I found it to be very effective at dealing with hermit purple rkers

12:10 is where we see eclipse fail at math... the difference between 7 and 10 aint 4, it's 3. Also I personally love using hamon and I don't use it with stuff that it was made for like hermit purple, I could use it with almost anything to be honest.

I like your rework but I would not remove the extra damage to vampires. I would instead have the ultraviolet resist on the vamp spec cost less. That way vampire gets buffed but Vamp Subspec users would get punished by Hamon users because we all know Uzu is not going to fix that

Eclipse literally forgot about sunlight yellow overdrive, this move is just forgotten so this makes hamon even worse because you are supposed to have 3 offensive moves and one of them is just ignored , i think its the same case of scarlet overdrive it is like box but worst, people can just get away when you use it , you can just use on block break/parry stuns but after the stun ends people can just dash out of the sunlight barrage, its the only problem it has but it ruins the move

I dont think hamon doing less damage to a vampire is a good idea. When a vampire gets space ripper stingy eyes, they have to buy a passive which, decreases hamon DAMAGE. Not to mention, hamon ZOOM is BLOCKABLE and STUNS THE HAMON USER, so a vamp can punish that with a life drain, regain like 33% of their hp and continue fighting. Vampire overall is a good spec if they understand the basic functions, an example being using freeze more as a combo extender/blockbreaker as it has a fast windup. If it hits, the opponent is locked in place so stands such as TW (Road roller), KQBTD (Stray cat), TWOH (smite) can use moves which are able to be avoided. It is in fact BETTER to keep this as it encourages people to use the actual spec instead of using a vamp as a SUBSPEC. This is because for pluck vamps, there is NO DEFENSE whatsoever and you will be more at risk to the damage of hamon, and for boxing the defense will only decrease the damage of hamon, but there still will be a noticeable increase in hamon damage. So overall, Hamon should keep this as it encourages players to use their brains and actually use the hamon weaknesses (zoom punch player stun if blocked/missed, SO slow windup, charge) and will actually counter the vamp subspec bullshit.

Another problem with hamon is sunlight yellow overdrive it should have a rework like this. Hamon's usage pauses when this move is being used, it lasts for as long as default boxing barrage and mastered sunlight yellow overdrive lasts for as long as maxed out boxing barrage.

Funny thing here is that hamon moves and jaw breaker moves are parallel. Eye gouge has the effect of zoom punch(excluding blindness, only including stun) but the range of scarlet overdrive Zoom punch has the effects of eye gouge but the range of jaw breaker. Jaw breaker has the range of zoom punch but the effects of scarlet overdrive(without the stun) Scarlet overdrive has the range of eye gouge but the effects of jawbreaker. Pretty unique.

Boxing dosent need a Nerf. Others specs needs reworks and buffs

I think a way to make hamon better would be to make it so hamon charge only goes down if you use a move or get hit. This will make it so you don’t have to spend points on duration and you don’t have to constantly charge.

I Agree with most of the points here except maybe the vampire crippling that Hamon brings. I would agree with you on that if Vamp Boxing/pluck didn't exist, but since that ordeal probably wouldn't get patched, this would add to the terror to vamp boxing/pluck and make it even more terrifying than it already is even with the added buffs to Hamon in your hypothetical patch to Hamon. I'd just say reduce skill points and increase damage so it's equal with boxing and has its own weaknesses and strengths. As for vampire, yeah I agree it's crippled by Hamon, but the only Idea I've got for it is make it so the spec by itself is about equal with Hamon or have both sides equally get increased damage against each other, so it's more of a sudden death kind of match for pure vampire and Hamon, that's my 5 cents worth of ideas though. This is also assuming Diavolo (Uzu) lets someone work on something besides skins, so hey it is what it is.

bruh this is so accurate. The whole reason i do not TOUCH hamon is the charge that makes you walk. it makes it super difficult to manage.

If you use Hamon + The Hand and you use erasure on a vampire (assuming you have hamon punch, erasure accelerate, erasure pull, and maxed erasure) you will do 103.3 damage, and the second erasure does 88 damage. From what I've seen, if you zoom punch, erasure, then second erasure it 1 shots all vampires.

I feel like the charge could be something like RHCP's charge it will only drop everytime you use a move and the hamon duration upgrade could be hamon usage upgrade. that's just me tho :]

There is a way to keep the vamp taking extra damage and be balanced and that is freeze getting rid of your ham on bar and doing extra damage as well as giving vamp a extra damage bonus higher than ham on because that’s canon

I think they should make sunlight yellow overdrive actually worth getting, like make it more like a barrage or increase stun so u can combo a zoom punch out of it. Scarlett overdrive should be replaced with sendo hamon overdrive, an aoe stun (you can't use beat down or powerful moves while it is active) that block breaks and does 5 damage and gives u a free combo, it has a medium start up and is cancellable (it is basically the same move as in eyes of heaven just does very little damage) if the move activates and the person hit by it is not attacked during stun they will be ragdolled and fall to the ground stand crashed

perhaps hamon vs vampire could be taken in a different way in regards to balancing them, instead of simply removing hamon's effects on vampirism entirely. possibly something similar to how hamon affects vampires in ASB and EOH, where it leaves damage that can't be regenerated with the vampires' passive healing. obviously i don't intend to say add that exact mechanic, as the healing is what vampires in yba rely on for survivability, but rather just that something be done that isn't remove a pretty unique mechanic that's a heavily established thing in canon.

I'd say it's most likely tied with Boxing, even if extra damage vs vamps is complete bs (which I can heavily agree) it's a huge buff to Hamon, you can basically destroy most Vamp and Pluck users (as most use subspec). Plus, about the skill point issue, most Boxing users also get cds and some even get boxing barrage no upgrades so that makes it a 1-2 difference, plus Hamon usually uses that 22 skill point build (not many get mastered moves/SYO). Again, at the end of the day you just wait until they buff the other three to those levels (OK, maybe not Pluck or Vamp but Spin really needs a buff)

Another part that hamon also lacks in is fighting runners.Due tco charging disabling sprint it's almost impossible fight a runner.Hamon also misses out on long timed combos.Since barraging lasts a long time.Barraging first with boxing is profittable sometimes.They should make it like the total concentration breathing of demonfall and increase bar consumption drastically.This would be a huge buff at the cost of another node called mastered breathing which costs alot of point

I'd say boxing is more frustrating in terms of charging, as you have to get out your gloves each time you respawn, which is annoying for those like me who horde items in their inventory. It's a bit more difficult than hding down a button for a few seconds, especially since you can't defend yourself when in the inventory.

Rework sunlight yellow overdrive and buff scarlet are the obvious answers but I'd much rather just focus on reworking spin

I think the devs need to make a change on the vamps freezing ability, they literally need to make it so the character is freezing and not moving and most importantly, not blocking or using stand skills cause it destroys the point of the freeze, every other skill is good in vamp but they can make the life steal skill have more range and the lazer eyes, can hit enemies when they’re right infront of you

So I'm trying to say that you still have hopes on being on par or ahead of boxing while using hamon. Just depends on the stand and your skill

Alright, I would like to say my way to fix Hamon. Point Cost. -ONLY reduce the point cost of the movements -And make the damage increase a passive that it hasnt to be upgraded to use it. Scarlet Ovedrive -Make the stand crashes -Make the burning effect damage rate faster as the sunlight burn rate or impossible to turn off the fire by dashing. -Reduce the windup Zoom Punch -Increase the distance of the punch (Because it is supposed to be a long range attack, not another stunny move) -Reduce just a little the damage -Increase the windup of the move as eye gouge Sunlight Yellow Overdrive -Increase the speed and hitbox of the punches (And also add the visual effect of stand barrages) -Reduce the damage -Make it have a time limit instead of wasting ALL the Hamon charge to hold it. Hamon Charge -Disable your running speed for a moment but after that you can press again the running button to run again while charging the hamon bar -Make the hamon charge bar doesnt drain if your not using stand & spec moves and also if your getting attacked. Extra Things -No more damage increase against vampires, but make the moves able to paralyze the hyper regeneration.

I feel like they need to balance all specs by giving all of them fair passives that dont over look others, same with stuns because they shouldn't be long enough to perform a heavy punch or even enough to land another stun for that matter. If this came true it would be nice to see yba's true colors upon the pvp system.
