The first time I saw Hampton Morris I thought "Huh. Jacked Pee Wee Herman". There have been no jokes rising in my head since that first time because this kid is freaking legit. This blows my mind, and I love seeing it. Can't wait to watch him as time goes on. Btw- there's a great docu about him called Hamp the Champ on KZfaq that give great insight into his life, mentality, and training. Worth a look, imho.

The first time I saw Hampton Morris was when I saw a vid of an unknown (to me) 56 kg kid back squatting 290 lbs for 10 reps! I thought it was fake on KZfaq. It was 2018 and I had no idea who he was. I found out pretty quickly.

Wow I really enjoyed watching this young man do so well in the clean and jerk. So many weightlifters in this comp have bombed out missing their chance to complete in the Olympics in Paris . This cleans his first lift with amazing power , then a slight elbow wabble lost him the lift ,which he stabilised beautify. To return to the platform with suitable lockout for the next much heavier lifts ,What ! and not to mention a 61kg man lifting 176 kgs above his head, with ease Wow . I would like to see Lasha do that ( and don't get me wrong Lasha is my favourite weightlifter) I am educating my self to consider the smaller men which I was once myself.

He actually set THREE world records with TWO lifts. One Junior WR in the C&J and then both a Junior AND Senior WR in the C&J! Holy Cow!! According to "Weightlifting - Progression of World records", Bob Bednarski was the last USA lifter to set a WR (he actually set two World Records in 1969. One in the press and one in the C&J). Joe Dube set two World Records in the press in 1968.

He didn't "out lift" fabin lol. He already won so he didn't bother
@JohnDoherty-dl2fz2 ай бұрын
User you are correct Fabin out totaled Hamp but don’t say Fabin didn’t “bother” Fabin tried and failed with 173 to increase his total world record. Fabin is still the better lifter because of his superhuman snatch but if he is off his snatches in Paris Hamp could make it very interesting.

Forgive my relative lack of knowledge here, but how can 176kg be a world record in the C&J at 61kg if Naim lifted 190kg in the 60kg class? Shouldn't a lower weight class lifter get the benefit of the higher class as well if his lift is heavier?
