Omggg why not???? I am thinking about coming there in the fall😭 ! How is it there?? Besides the cost what are the other cons??

@@courtneyalexis9610 Unorganized, they show countless times that they do not care about the students Example ; Today they gave the students a 7 day warning that they will be closing campus for spring break.. There are students all over the world here, that’s not enough time for one. They want to please the white man , telling students that wearing our natural hair like afros in business pro (all black suit and tie with white shirt underneath) is not acceptable. Wearing color in your hair is not acceptable as well if you are in a student government position. They are very outdated, when it comes time for you to graduate as a senior Hampton doesn’t allow digital transcripts. Hampton is stuck in the 1800s with many of their traditions, they just allowed women to wear pants for business pro. Around the campus is nothing so if you want to leave , you will be spending $15 each way whether that is grocery shopping, a fun night out, or emergencies because the closet Emergency Room is 25 minutes away. The health center is only opened from 9-5 Mon-Fri appointments only .. so if you are in need right then and there they will not be able to help you. It’ll take about 20-45 mins to get your uber to head to the ER that is 25 mins away because the drivers do not like coming on our campus. They do not educate about sex and sexual assault, if you are sexually assaulted you have two options 1. Tell no one because they will do nothing or 2. Tell someone and get the chance of getting out by 5 (kicked out) because they do not want students to have sex We are not allowed to have visitation , not just from the opposite gender, from our same gender. So if you friend lives two doors down and you are both girls you cannot go in their room. If you like the same sex, I advise you not to attend this school as some students and staff are homophobic and nothing is done when they are reported. The cafe food is disgusting and has bugs, they serve the same food 7 days a week except for friday chicken wednesdays where you will be waiting in line for 45 minutes to an hour. Some professors do not care, only about a check. You also cannot have your car on campus until your junior year where at most colleges it sophomore year. Junior year most students live off campus anyways .. the only way you can get a car is if you have a job or a medical condition which they can deny you for both. We have a shuttle bus that is unreliable costing $4 in total but since it’s unreliable, you’ll probably end up paying $30 for an uber in total . Some dorms do not have kitchens .. or fridges so you’ll have to share a mini fridge with a whole floor of girls. Also there is only one co-ed dorm which is probably the most run down dorm because they don’t want students to experience what they will experience in the real world. And i’m saying that because when you get your apartment as you grow older, you don’t get to pick and choose if you are living next to the same sex or not. The gym is ran down but don’t worry about gaining weight because the food they feed us is terrible. Chick-fil-a has never been opened on campus. Wendys will close their doors @2pm because they don’t want to serve students. Usually resulting in waiting in the fast food line with the cars. We have wing zone which is pretty nasty but never know when they are or are not open. We have a jamaican restaurant which is good but i believe they close at 5. Tropical smoothie also closes at 5 so there is nothing for students to do or eat except for the cafe, unless you to pay the extra money to doordash of course. i’m really trying not to forget anything but there is so much. There are cheaper schools, that give much better things to their students. People brush off these problems and claim hampton is the best school. Hampton might be #4 HBCU but #10 in VA and #202 in the country .. makes a big difference now . and please remember Howard was #2 and look how they treat their students.. Hampton is #4 and no different.
