What a great video explaining repeaters! I really appreciate this video, and as a new ham, this is great knowledge. I don't care how basic it may seem to many hams. This is beneficial! Thank you!

Great video series! One slight clarification: Tone= Transmitting a CTCSS tone from your handheld or mobile radio to open a repeater. TSql= Puts a CTCSS tone on your handheld or mobile receiver so that it will only open the audio, when the proper CTCSS is received. Tone is needed to access most repeaters. It also keeps you from being repeated from other repeaters that may be on the same frequency in the area. TSql is optional so that you don't hear "nuisance" tranmissions from other repeaters on the frequency.

Really enjoying and getting a lot out of your videos! Thank you so much! A couple of questions from raw beginner - can you activate tone squelch even when it isn't required? What adverse effect would that have? Once you connect to a repeater, how do you connect to another repeater through the first one? Could you transmit/receive over hundreds or thousands of miles by somehow hopping through multiple repeaters? Thanks again!
