This video also helps me to understand why so many of my fitness class participants cannot seem to stretch one leg straight back - because of weak hip flexors and slack/tired Gluteous muscles - honestly it's like an epidemic so this is so helpful.

This explains a lot. Another of your videos showed me that I was slamming my heels down when I walk, and going more forward helps a ton with the pain. I had been in physical therapy for 8 months and made no real progress even though we were working the glutes like crazy, and now I know why!!!! My hip flexors are super tight. I'm going to do these hip flexor exercises every day now, and combined with continuing the glute workouts and remembering not to slam my heels down on every step, I actually feel downright hopeful.

Thanks Bob and Brad for all the work you do on this channel, it truly is a gift to so many people. I noticed something today. I’m a part-time artist, and I sometimes stop the video and sketch out the exercise position you are demonstrating to help me remember the exercise. Today you are both wearing what appears to be black pants. Such a dark value hides the variation of tone on your legs and makes it harder to see, for example, which way your foot is pointing. This might be fine in person but cameras tend to collapse all the black/white/gray tones we use to identify shapes towards black. I would suggest wearing something that is a medium value, like 50% gray, for better contrast and visibility on the screen. Thanks again for your work!

But if you are a person who whgo has any kind of tightness or ilium anterior tilt due to the tight hamstring you shouldn't push the pelvis FW in the hip flexor stretch....it makes the anterior tilt worse, you can do this while keeping the pelvis straight - tested this many itmes w my PT and if I do it the way you just showed I get hurt. For some it's great - just suggesting you also mention that. :) Love you guys you've helped me alot!

Hello guys, thanks for your video. I have a question: I was thinking that these exercises would put strain on the affected hamstrings as well as on your glutes, and so be counterproductive perhaps, causing the already injured hamstring to become worse? Are there any exercises that target glutes without using the hamstrings? Or is this just another problem that we have to work around? All the best and thanks again

"i could do anything before i was 50". Im only 36. I have been trying to stay in shape since 9th grade. Lifted weights the who time and never pulled anything from exercising too much. Got out of the weights routine at 28, and Turn 34 and my upper hamstring begins to pull on a routine speed check of 40 yard dashes after riding bike for 3 miles. Never felt the sensation before so i finished one or two more which i should have not. First it was the dominant leg, now its both. it never dawned on me until recently and this video second my thought that my glutes have shrunk since i dont squat and only run now. i recently started air squatting but not nearly as consistent as if i were to be following a program.
