Simple slab built trays and a spectacular bowl project that can be made with just a few stamps, a rolling pin and a sprinkle of creativity. You can add a thrown foot or use a coiled foot, may be add three balls of clay as a foot, endless possibilities. Lots of texture stamping possibilities to play with.

Oh My Goodness! I’d that an old pastry or noodle sheeter! Great thing. I bet it weighs a ton! next time when you attach the foot, try adding a very thin roll of clay between the two. Then you wouldn’t have lost that lovely extra rim. Also, the big one that you took the wrap off before you put it on the bowl, that white bucket on your table…..perfect matchup. Another bowl, but a different bottom. You could even make a rectangular slab base!

Why? Why I ask. Why did you have to touch me in my heart? Why did you have to be so generous with your knowledge and skills? Why did you have to come into my life and give me hope to create? You ate such a kind man to be so giving. I can't afford a lot of what is needed, nor do I have the knowledge how, but you sure made my mind think. Where it will lead me I don't know but I am absolutely greatful to continue forward in knowing you. There's a lot to read into this comment but as long as you understand it that's really all that matters to me...

I noticed this morning that KZfaq have put ads during my video. Is that just when I watch my video or does everyone get this? I have deliberately not monetized the channel to prevent these annoying ads appearing during my videos. Of course I do not read the terms of conditions so may be that is just the cost of downloading videos, nothing is free in life. Apologies for the annoying ads.

I have an ad blocker on my home computer, so I don't see them. On my phone, though, I've noticed that ads are becoming more frequent, more widespread, louder, longer, and more offensive almost weekly. It's not just you.

Apparently in the terms there is a clause that KZfaq can put ads onto anyone's videos whether you want them or not... and even if you haven't reached that 1,000 subscribers that you have to reach before you can monetize. So, whether you monetize or not, ads can appear... and often do once someone gets even a little popular. If you don't monetize, it just means KZfaq makes all the cash. I tend to use "skip" when the ads become too much.

I believe that's a North Star slab roller. It's one of the few brands which adjusts the slab thickness by raising or lowering the roller, rather than having to insert shims in the bed. Great tip on getting square(ish) slabs Can't wait to try it. Those ovals seem to waste a lot space on the ends making me roll more slabs to fit that last piece. Those bowls are just fantastic.

Thank you for your wonderful video! I've been making large bowls similar to yours since the middle 70's, using lace pressed into the clay with slip painted over it to accentuate the pattern. One difference in technique is that I use pieces of old bed sheets to roll the clay on. It's not so hard to peel the clay off and leaves almost no mark. I can roll out thin enough to move easily. I love the way you glaze these large pots on the inside! I suspend mine on a jar over a large bowl to pour glaze over the outside after dipping the stem in a smaller bowl with glaze in it to glaze the stem. I have always made the stems the day before, but will try making and adding them immediately! That looks interesting!! I tried a slab with stamps, etc., yesterday!! What fun!!!!! Again, thank you for sharing! Ann Sciba

I'll be watching. One other thing I do differently is use quilt batting, the soft kind that I can tear up, to stuff the curves after I get the bowl over the drape mold. It's strong enough to hold and, since it's going under the cloth the bowl is draped over, doesn't get dirty, while helping to hold the shape.

Just for information... Those two tools with the handles that you thought might be for wallpaper or plaster (they can be used for the plaster for sure) are also texture tools to add wood grain to things. You lay down a dark colour and let it dry, then lay a light colour over top and drag the tool in one direction, tipping it back and forth as you do, and it puts a nice wood grain down. Then let that dry before varnish or glaze is added. You can also use those pointy parts to drag other patterns onto projects.

You can buy a product called Patch Attach which will fill the crack, it will even re-join a broken handle.
