Today I will restore an old hand saw and turn it into a useful and also decorative object.
I hope to surprise you with the final result of this project and its use.
This old carpenter's hand saw had a crooked blade and it would not have been optimal to use it for its purpose, so I decided to transform it.
For the rust removal I used a 3% citric acid solution and then cleaned the blade with a fine steel wool to maintain a vintage look.
The handle was sanded with 80 and 120 grit and for the finish I used water-based dye and wood wax that give it a retro look.
The recovery of old work tools always gives me a lot of satisfaction and gratification, I hope you enjoyed my work, I had a lot of fun, especially creating the intro and the outro.

A restoration project with an uncommon end result is the topic of today's video. Hope you liked my idea on how to reuse an old woodworking tool. I'd love to know what you think in the comments.

Wow that was incredible 👍 the whole time I was thinking how is he going to do this then the penny dropped. Such a brilliant idea, turned out great. I better not show my wife or I'll have no Saw's left in my work shop.

Thanks for stopping by to watch the video mate. If your wife sees it you can always drop by the junk shop to buy some old saws, they usually are cheap. :)

@@LTMS I have some old ones in the shed but not using those. They still want a $50 for an old saw at the junk shop around here

La lama era storta e non si poteva più usare come attrezzo da lavoro. In questo modo almeno adesso ha una sua utilità. Grazie molte.

Some great skill and technique in this video, sadly I did guess the "surprise" but appreciate it is your project and your decision, it would perhaps be nice if you had explained that the blade was beyond use as a saw, it was certainly very pitted ! I still enjoyed the project, I look forward to seeing you do a full saw restoration in the future !
