Yes, that might be true, but I'm also using much higher quality filters than he does. So I rather have clean before the dust really settles in and ruins the filter.

A couple of them attached to each other or to a metal object have great holding power. Enough to generate blood blisters should you get your fingers in the way. Great for latches, and other items that need to stay put.

Rainer Zufall in Sweden at least, you can buy various magnets in any home improvement stores, including Bauhaus and Hornbach (both of which we have within reasonable distance from me, by the way). :)

I bought a set of 100 online (5€), because I needed them for other projects as well.

Can't remember ever seeing them in a Bauhaus here in Austria, but I also never really searched for some, because I bought some way before I really needed some on ebay. It's much cheaper there if you want a few (and you want a few because they are handy to have around ;) ). You can always try out fridge magnets (they will be weaker but might still work). Or check out 1€ shops for random stuff that has magnets in it. If that fails Conrad, Reichelt or Pollin (the electronics shops) should have some Neodymium magnets. Although if you aren't close to one of them and have to order them you might as well buy them in bulk from China.

they are the same, the one for the Pantorouter only looks a bit taller because the filter extends into the chamber. Both work about the same.

They are just pre-filters and the edges are a bit problematic. That's where the actual filters get dirty the most.

Just for starters you can easily build your own lathe for a few bucks. I think I spent 50 Euros on an old motor, some threaded rod a switch and some wires. Add some scrap wood and there you go. It worked. Mr Wandel had some videos on builing a REALLY cheap one yourself.
