Bye Handan,you were the most butchered Ottoman historical character ever in the series. Irl, Handan was a very influential woman (and part of sultanate of women),even though she was 2 years Valide Sultan, she had enormous influence on the state. She exiled Safiye and dismiss all the corrupted people in the divan and harem,and replace it with her countrymen Bosnians,she formed a circle of loyal people for Ahmed(because Ahmed was the first sultan who ascended the throne without governing a province and childless). She acted as co regent with Ahmed's teacher Mustafa Efendi and Yavuz Ali Pasa(the grand vizier).She organizid political meetings with Ahmed, Yavuz Ali Pasa and Mustafa Efendi at night(but Handan was in veil and spoke behind curtain),and also she made Ahmed famous at soldiers by advising him how to win their favour. Also some had believed that Ahmed and Handan had bad relationship, because Handan as Valide received 1000 aspers(low compared to Safiye).But contrary, there is no proof that Ahmed had reduced her salary, but it's more Handan herself. Why? Because previously when Mehmed III was sultan,and went to a campaign he made Safiye head of the treasury,and she increased her salary to 3000 aspers,which made the soldiers furious,and later there were riots against it and for other reasons too. So Handan had done the opposite. Handan died very early(in her mid 30's),because of digestive problems. And some historians believe that there was genetic disorder because Ahmed I, Murad IV, Murad IV's sons, and also Suleiman II and others died of same problems and they had inherited from her. The only thing which can be found some accuracy about Handan in the show is that she and Kosem really didn't get along and had bad relationship.

First inconsistency how Ahmed managed to believe the daughter of his mother's enemy (Dilura) without any proof. 2) It's nice (ironic) to see that Kosem is blamed for everything bad that happens by Humasah (It must remind you of something in MC) who seems to me to see her in the first episodes as a cartoon villain (it must still remind you of someone although Humasah is much more rational). 3) Dilruba has a pass for everything or what? I mean Mihrimah pretty much got away with everything by Suleiman and no one blamed her when she acted the hypocrite (except Selim and occasionally Fatma) but then Dilruba has another level of letting go as she does 500 times worse.
