Steph, I purchased the Vancouver in Sky Blue it’s like baby blue color. I have this bag in the same light color you have. I absolutely love it!! Leather quality top teir. My only con is the clasp closure. If I do not close it just right, I have to fight with it a bit to get it to close. But overall, one one my favs!! ❤😊

Great review! Love this line. I have the black WOC/clutch and always get compliments on it. I am also going to get the a few other colors in the same style. Top handles are my favorite style of bag. I also have my eyes on the Montreal midi size and the Cannes bags. This company delivers quickly to the states!

My pet peeves are hardware scratches & metal tarnishing, so I haven't bought LV bags the past few years because those problems. Although I love the look of the Vancouver bag when it's new, I'll wait for reviews of users after several months of use to see if it holds up. The La Prima bag in small size by Armani is currently what I'm using since it doesn't have much metal on it & I like the how well designed the strap is. The DeMellier Vancouver's straps are like the ones on my A.P.C. Geneve bag & I don't like the design that much.

I‘ve had my Vancouver for 3 years now (used it constantly for 2 years straight) and except for light scratches on the hardware and slight signs of use on parts of the edge paint, it has held up exceptionally well. I own it in a very light gray. Would definitely purchase another one.

I bought the taupe Vancouver last year. As beautiful as the bag looks, i just don’t use it much. I like to wear bags cross body and the bag just doesn’t lay super flat when crossbody (probably because my hips are wider). Also, I find the buckle kind of hard to close when the bag is not full. I recently got the Songmont medium chocolate bag and think it’s a much better bag in terms of quality and functionality. I wasn’t a fan at first of their buckle design seen online but the quality of the bag in person blew me away.

I just recently discovered Demellier and absolutely love it. I plan to buy one, but haven't decided yet wether it is gonna be a "London" (in taupe) or a "Midi Montreal" (in ruby red). The green Mini Venice also looks beautiful. So many options... I want to add to your video, that the Vancouver is also available in vegan leather. The price is the same, I guess the material is not as durable as real leather

Because I love my black Vancouver so much I have bought a second DeMellier…the toffee Nano Montreal often worn by Princess Kate. It was shockingly small when it arrived but I am now mad about it, it’s just perfect for a phone, a lip gloss and your keys. On a smaller gal it is the absolute perfect size, just a doll of a bag.

The Vancouver is so pretty! I especially love the taupe color! The strap looks a little fussy though. Does it bother you when the strap is on your shoulder and the end is sort of flopping around?

Hi Steph, I almost ordered this bag when I was in London last year from Australia but hesitated because there was no bricks and mouse store to look at. I did see a few of their saddle type bags around the Notting Hill area. I am deciding between this and the Celine. I love the butter colour for spring.

Hey! Yes they don’t have stores but do have a lifetime warranty. I mean - the Celine is going to be better quality & they look stunning. Are they worth 6 times the price - I’m not so sure! But if you deep down want the Celine I say go for that otherwise you’ll still just want it. Both are fabulous bags

I'm in the same boat! I think I am going for Celine Classique Triomphe in black and getting the DeMellier Vancouver in Taupe. I tend to struggle with buying light color luxury bags just becuase price point for something that can get dirty quite easily. I think DeMellier's price point offers an excellent option.

The leather on the box bag looks good. However, the hardware has that overly shiny look, which in my view makes it look a bit cheap, so it's a no for me

I tried to buy this brand, but there's another thing holding me that they use black liner for all the bags, especially with those light-colored bags that look cheap. I wish they can use a nice matching color for the liners. That's my personal opinion only.

I've had this bag for a couple of years. As much as I love the design (it is stunning!), the quality is not even close to luxe. Had some scratches on the leather and hardware after a month of occasional use. Especially the lock got all covered in some sort of stains or scratches. I've had it replaced for free with DeMellier (which is great, but means they acknowledged quality issues), but then these stains/scratches started to appear again just out of nowhere. Plus the lock is nearly impossible to close when bag is not fully stuffed and the whole construction of the bag feels really flimsy to me. Would not recommend to be honest.

I ordered one in the taupe colour and the hardware was already scratched. Needless to say I returned it. I think the quality of leather is good but the hardware looks very cheap.

@@5ftNothing glad I saw your comment, I was concerned of the same thing. I'm sticking with my Armani La Prima bags to avoid this problem. I HATE hardware scratches & tarnishing. I already have the A.P.C. Geneve bag & it has a similar strap with the DeMellier Vancouver so I don't see the need to even test this bag out anymore. The way the strap adjusts on the A.P.C is annoying & I bet the Vancouver will annoy me too. The La Prima has so much better straps to be honest.

In terms of being able to open the bag? I doubt unless they knew how to unlock it, it stays locked. Crossbody, I wear mine to the front of my body and shoulder strap it, your arm would rest on the bag so no one could open the flap even if they did manage to unlock it. I personally feel very safe with the bag, but appreciate this can be a personal thing it depends how you’ll wear it

Steph, would you ever consider reviewing a Proenza Schouler PS1 bag? I had one myself in the medium size but sold it for a smaller size. I know you have the mulberry school satchels in a similar size. I think the PS1 is pretty similar in style and “quiet luxuriness.” It’s also interesting how Proenza changed most of the leather in PS1s from the shiny soft leather to a more structured leather in the past 5 years or so - very similar to how Balenciaga changed the leather and structure of the classic City bags.

There are so many, truely fabulous, beautifully made, georgeously designed leather handbags, made by boutique companies...that are NOT by uber expensive DESIGNER Companies. Yeah, they're usually, MOSTLY $500, (Or less) But that is their best. I have one in butter leather that literally PUDDLES when empty. Black, gorgeous silver metal hardware. Girls swoon when they see it. BUT NOT A MAJOR DESIGNER BAG. There is nothing worse, to me, than having the same bag, AS EVERYONE. What ELSE can you say, about a Birkin???

I bought this bag summer 2022 and by autumn it was covered in scratches. Both the leather and the hardware. The strap situation is just poorly done. It just looks messy and the strap holder has expanded so it doesn’t do any job of keeping the fasteners in place. It’s a nice looking bag but wears really poorly.
