It's been SO refreshing to take a look at some more affordable, contemporary luxury bag brands with reasonable prices, taking a deep dive into the faces and stories behind the brands. I do believe there is a new generation of indie/contemporary bag brands worth looking into that pride themselves on quality materials and craftsmanship, without the huge price tags we see from brands like Chanel and Louis Vuitton.
The big fashion houses seem to be having huge price increases every few months, where as these lower luxury brands are focused more on their product. I have plenty of Minkoff, L by Ralph Lauren and Coach bags. Good quality, not too bad priced, no need to baby them. You can use them casually. As, you know, handbags, everyday functional items 😆. I prefer the ones with no/ minimal logos.

It’s time to really consider some these less known brands because the leathers used and the overs quality seems exceptional at a fraction of the cost. It’s pretty hard to overlook 24 K plated hardware compared to brass!👌🏼

Awesome video! Just an FYI to US buyers: my Atelier Aguste bag arrived w/ a slight defect in the hide (about 1/3 in long indentation that’s been filled). 😒 It’s not highly visible, but it’s definitely something that wouldn’t have gone unnoticed by a skilled leather craftsman. Otherwise, it’s a beautiful bag, so I’ll keep it. Good luck.

I from *hotdups* bought a Birkin and I went into Louis Vuitton at South Coast Plaza with a friend who wanted to buy a card case and we received great customer service. They offered us water..LOL I would never buy authentic knowing that are just as good.

The only reason I would pay more is for longevity. Real leather goods are always more expensive, even for non luxury items. They also last for ever if you take good care of them. I wear my purses out, but my mom got me a Coach bag. I wore it everyday for months and it almost looks just has perfect as the day I got it. I switched to a different color bag that isn’t luxury and I noticed I went back to needing to buy a new purse every 2-3 months.

@@Handbagholic I have used a few times since I bought it. OMG it's so comfortable worn on the shoulders and crossbody and it fits a lot. It got wet from the rain but the leather is so durable no damage at all. It's becoming my daily go to bag😍

And one last thing. I get sooooo irritated when YT’ers and others say things like “don’t by a Neverfull because its so basic and everyone has one and half of them are fake “. I call bullshit. Who cares if its fake or real.Bought Gucci Marmont bag on *hotdups* , I am honestly very satisfied with this company. Maybe the best I ever bought a bag from.

I went to Ateliers Augusta when I visited Paris over the summer. I bought the monceau. My only regret is not buying more, especially since they are frequently sold out online. I really do hope to get my hands on a mini Marley one day.

I bought the Lalage Beaumont Fontyn in midi size tan color last week and since I got it I am using it and ignoring my designer collection ( maybe it is the honey moon phase ) but really I am impressed by the quality and time will till how they will wear . I wish they make this exact bag in various pink colors ( i.e Sakura pink ) .Actually few options are available

Hello, am new to your channel and am already following 😊 I have a question that might be a good to talk about on your channel Basically I find that high quality bags with the real good leather in any kind of leather bag -heavy- I would find one that I like the style and structure but once I put it on my shoulder or wrist I can tell the heaviness is already a problem with that being said without even a single item that I have in it , it just feels to heavy already To note am 4’9” and 118 lbs And I carry a ton of stuffed in bags What is yall opinion on this? 😅

In your opinion, is the box leather on the Ateliers Auguste more luxe or is the DeMelier better?

Hmm good question, I would say the Ateliers is a slightly nicer leather but it doesn't have a really thick finish on it (which I like) but it does mean it'll scratch a little easier then DeMellier leather (which has a thicker chrome tan)

The leather is beautiful. Since it’s a box calf finish (they have other finishes) it does show scratches. I mean so far mine is fine but it will show more than a grained leather, for example but that’s just one of the characteristics of the leather. You can buff light scratches out sometimes

Would love to see a video of stylish bags that are not made of animal products - I only know of Stella McCartney but don't love her designs. I'm hoping there are others out there that are affordable. More designers needs to step up and make non leather fashionable for the good of the planet and our future.

More brands are looking into this but a lot of leather is waste material from the food industry, where ‘fake’ leather is often not so environmentally friendly, alot of it is plastic based.
