Holy frick I overall didn't feel too moved by this arrangement and generally prefer the Passacaglia one, but damn that end from 7:08 was so apotheotic I even felt like it totally deserved a picardy cadence at the end instead of in one of the middle variations.

Man, I'd only change two notes in this piece. This is amazing, and much better than the passacaglia

Came here immediately after watching Barry Lyndon. But this Halvorsen duet, in my opinion, is even better than the Passacaglia.

It’s the same Handel’s sarabande is la folia Because la folia is a sarabande (it’s name in French is “folies d’Espagne”, and sarabandes came to Europe through Spain, so it’s only natural that this theme be a sarabande. Hence justifying calling what is actually la folia “sarabande”)
