Today we will cover how to safely and effectively grip your semi-auto handgun/pistol using two hands and one hand. We will cover gripping for precision and sport shooting as well as for CQB/combat and self-defense. The instructor in this video is an Army vet with multiple professional firearms training certifications, over 35-years of experience with guns, and has been a professional firearms instructor in both military and civilian fields for over 7-years.
ALWAYS PLACE SAFETY FIRST DURING TRAINING!
1. Treat every gun as if it were loaded.
2. Keep the gun pointed in a safe direction at all times.
3. Do not point a gun at anything you are not willing to destroy.
4. Keep your finger off the trigger until you are on target and ready to fire.
5. Always positively identify your target before firing.
6. Be aware of what is in front, behind and to the sides of your target.
7. Use a holster when carrying a “loaded” handgun.
8. Keep firearms out of the reach of small children.
9. Always use the correct ammunition for your gun.
10. Train hard, stay safe and have fun!

I'm 71 years old. Never fired a handgun. Finally broke down and bought a GLOCK 19 Gen 5, 9mm handgun. For home defense, as things are really getting bad as far as crimes. Also I want to go to the firing range for a hobby. Watching your videos are the best thing I could do besides having an instructor with me. They are the best videos for newbees like me that are on the internet. I hope you are still doing videos as this video was 3 years ago. Thank you my friend for what you do for the gun community. Fantastic video, all of them are actually. Precise and right to the point. It's so nice to watch because you've got *no* "enhancements" ie: distractions, like background "music" or filler "um's & uh/ ah"...😬 I appreciate that you speak clearly and intelligently without it being too slow or rattled off too fast. You're a great teacher! 🥇 I've been shooting since my Dad started teaching me when I was six years old. I'm 38 now, still shooting, learning and striving to get a little bit better all the time. So thank you! and stay safe -

I gotta tell you.... I came across your video while watching some gun reviews etc. I watch a lot of different gun videos sometimes for the guns, sometimes for ammo reviews and sometimes for technical reasons or shooting techniques. This video is by FAR, the best I've ever seen on grip and dynamics. I followed along with my "practice" gun and immediately FELT the difference and SAW the difference in my sights. I also like your presentation. By that I mean, no distractions. No loud music, no fancy production and distracting backgrounds or other objects in view. Just your hands and the gun lazer focused on the subject matter, the grip. Personally, I think most of these "gun guys" loose site of what the subject is and the videos end up being more about them. I learned more in 19 minutes then I have in all the hours of videos I've watched from other KZfaqrs.. Anyway, great video and easy going presentation without all the BS. Thanks for sharing and I'll be watching this video again and again 👍🤠

First thing first. Safety, safety, safety... Can't ever say that enough. I've just started watching your channel, I'm not a new to shooting ,but it's been some years . Didn't feel that I really needed a firearm , until these days of uncertainty. I'm sure I don't have to say anything else.. But to the point , I really enjoy your teaching video's and the lengths you go through to ensure understanding. Your tone , and clarity makes sure that we're able to totally understand the lesson and the situation . Not going all gung ho like a lot of these guys on other channels. It doesn't have to be 1000 horsepower every step of the way. I really appreciate you and your channel. Thank you and may Blessings be with you.

As a beginner with pistols, I was a bit perplexed what to do with all of my "extra fingers" in my off-hand. "Push FORWARD with the dominant hand and PULL back with the off hand" got me sorting things out very quickly! I didn't have to THINK so much about the ANGLE of my various digits or even which thumb should be on top of the other. I know it sounds very simple but it's a great way to make your hands "automatically " make a good grip. I'm sure everyone else here already knows this but I found it helpful.

Hi There... just try to find the sweet spot that works for you... should be firm but not too tight. If your knuckles turn white, you are probably too tight. Happy shootin'.

@@adigaarmory 90% of the macho, tattooed, duech bags out there would disagree with you. Just like the thumbs MUST be this WAY. So tired of those guys. One guy started out pretty good too: "you're not going to hold any gun 100% still because of recoil", then he goes on and on with the typical; must have 100% control and strangle the gun into submission! LOL It's similar to rifle basics for rapid fire training. Line up the body to fall naturally back into place. Try not to move the weapon into place, but the body first.

Never got to see this in it's entirety. Continues to "time out" constantly buffering. Oh well, that's technology for ya.😒 Edit: After several starts, etc. I finally got to see all presented. In two min. spurts and then with five min. pauses to buffer. Good instructional. Thank you.
